Role Overview

Hairloom is looking for a creative, fashion-forward Social Media Content Creator to produce high-quality visual content that reflects our premium salon experience.

You will be responsible for filming, editing, and publishing engaging content across multiple social media platforms to elevate brand presence, attract new clients, and strengthen community engagement.

This role requires strong aesthetic sense, trend awareness, and the ability to capture beauty, fashion, and lifestyle storytelling through video.

Content Creation & Production

• Film high-quality short-form and long-form videos in salon (Reels, TikTok, Shorts)

• Capture before/after transformations

• Record stylist processes, client testimonials, and behind-the-scenes moments

• Create educational hair-care content

• Ensure lighting, framing, and angles complement hair texture and color

Video Editing & Publishing

• Edit videos professionally using tools such as CapCut, Final Cut Pro, Premiere Pro, etc.

• Add subtitles, transitions, music, and branding elements

• Optimize format for each platform (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube)

• Write engaging captions aligned with brand voice

• Schedule and publish content consistently

Brand & Fashion Alignment

• Maintain strong fashion awareness (trends, color palettes, styling direction)

• Ensure content reflects premium, clean, and elegant aesthetics

• Coordinate outfit styling for stylists/models when needed

• Understand hair trends, beauty trends, and lifestyle movements

Social Media Strategy Support

• Assist in planning monthly content calendar

• Suggest trending concepts and viral ideas

• Monitor competitor salons and beauty brands

• Track engagement insights and improve content performance

• Identify content that converts viewers into bookings

In-Salon Coordination

• Work closely with stylists to plan shoot timing

• Guide clients for natural on-camera presence

• Ensure content creation does not disrupt salon operations

• Capture peak season campaigns (CNY, festive promotions, new launches)

Key Requirements

• Strong fashion sense and interest in beauty industry

• Skilled in mobile videography and editing

• Familiar with TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts algorithms

• Good eye for detail (lighting, background, posture, hair flow)

• Confident in creative direction and visual storytelling

• Able to work weekends (salon peak days)

• Comfortable filming people and directing small scenes

• Organized and deadline-driven

Added Advantage

• Experience in beauty / hair / fashion industry

• Basic photography skills

• Graphic design ability (Canva / Adobe)

• Understanding of influencer collaborations

• Experience running paid ads (Meta / TikTok Ads)

• Basic knowledge of branding & marketing psychology

Topics may include:

Essential:

• Master’s degree (PhD preferred) in Communications, Media, Marketing, or related field
• Teaching experience in higher education (Bachelor level preferred)
• Familiarity with AI tools in media/content creation

Preferred:

• Industry experience in digital media, marketing, or content strategy
• Experience with platforms such as social media analytics, content creation tools, or AI-based media tools
• Strong understanding of critical media theory
