Focusing on Chinese-translated articles, the copy editor plays a critical role in fact-checking and refining machine and human-translated articles, to ensure accuracy, clarity and alignment with the publication’s editorial standards and house style. • Fresh graduates with strong  academic background or engineering potential demonstrated through involvement in LLM-related lab projects; publishing papers at AI conferences as a core author; or completing AI R&D internship at established technology companies.

• AI-Native Development (Vibe Coding): Fully embrace the "Vibe Coding" philosophy, being highly proficient with AI coding tools (e.g., Codex, Claude Code) for daily development. Possess solid computer science fundamentals and a software engineering mindset. We are language-agnostic (Python or Java are both fine); the focus is heavily on complex system architecture design with AI assistance, rigorous Code Review capabilities, and deep-dive bug troubleshooting skills.
• LLMs & Agents: Deep understanding of LLM architectural principles. Proficient in mainstream RAG and Agent development/evaluation frameworks. Extensive experience in Prompt Engineering or Context Engineering, and familiar with mainstream vector databases (e.g., Milvus, pgvector, Pinecone). Proficient in end-to-end SFT/DPO fine-tuning and preference alignment, with hands-on experience in constructing high-quality synthetic data and deep model adaptation preferred.
• Multimodal Skills: Profound understanding of the evolutionary path and technical boundaries of native multimodal LLMs. Experience in preprocessing, aligning, and fusing multimodal data. Production-level, full-stack development experience in image/audio/video generation, with the ability to lead solution design and low-level engineering implementation for complex multimodal tasks.
• Communication & Soft Skills: Excellent cross-departmental communication skills with high empathy. Able to collaborate smoothly with Product Managers and editorial teams, bridging product requirements and technical execution.
• Open Source & Academic Contributions: Active contributor to open-source AI projects, or published papers at AI conferences would be advantageous.

About the Role

Singapore's premier business daily, The Business Times (BT), is looking for a journalist to join its companies and markets team.

The successful candidate will get a front-row seat to the corporate scene and the development of capital markets in Singapore. You will sniff for newsworthy changes at companies, analyse their financial well-being and corporate moves, and compare them with their peers in the industry or across the region. You will need to be acquainted with regulations related to the capital markets including the Securities and Futures Act

You will flesh out how companies are affected by and responding to policy changes, market regulations, economic climate, and investor sentiment. You should be aware of the big picture trends such as AI and sustainability and how they impact companies. You should have an eye for numbers and be able to translate them into company stories that are accessible even to non-industry readers. You will need to know how to join the dots, write with clarity and authority, and build out the paper's incisive coverage on companies and markets here.

The applicant should be quick at spotting trends and be ready to offer insightful commentary. A nose for scoops is a plus. You should be driven by curiosity, and embrace a growth mindset.

Job Requirements

• Relevant degree in Economics, Business, Finance, or any relevant fields
• Sharp news sense and at least three years’ experience in writing about the Singapore companies
• Familiarity with regulatory institutions, economic and social issues, monetary policies, investment data, and other commonly used financial and market indicators
• Fluent in written and spoken English. Familiarity with an Asian language is a plus
• Comfortable with working both independently and collaboratively
• Committed to learning and adapting to new ways to tell a story better
