Role overview 

The Digital Consultant – Data & Analytics plays a key delivery role within Turner & Townsend Japan’s Digital Consulting practice, supporting the design, implementation, and adoption of data-led digital solutions across major construction and capital projects. 

Working under the guidance of senior digital leaders, you will help translate client and internal business challenges into practical data, analytics, and insight solutions that improve project performance, predictability, and decision-making. 

This role focuses on hands-on delivery, analysis, and client engagement, contributing to digital advisory, reporting and analytics solutions, project controls data environments, and emerging AI-driven insights across Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Energy & Natural Resources sectors. 

Key responsibilities 

1. Data & Analytics Delivery 

• Support the delivery of data and analytics solutions across project, programme, and portfolio environments. 

• Develop dashboards, reports, and analytical models to support project controls, performance management, and executive decision-making. 

• Assist in data preparation, validation, modelling, and visualisation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and usability. 

• Contribute to solution testing, user training, and adoption support. 

2. Digital Advisory & Problem Solving 

• Work with project teams and clients to understand data, reporting, and insight requirements. 

• Apply structured analytical thinking to identify trends, risks, and opportunities within project and portfolio data. 

• Support the development of digital advisory outputs, including insights packs, dashboards, and recommendations. 

• Apply best practice approaches to data governance, quality, and information management. 

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration 

• Collaborate with project managers, cost managers, planners, and digital specialists to deliver integrated solutions. 

• Communicate clearly with internal teams and client stakeholders, adapting your style to different audiences. 

• Contribute to workshops, requirement-gathering sessions, and solution walkthroughs.

4. Technology & Tools Enablement

Role Overview

As a Senior Cost Manager in Cost Management, you will be responsible for leading the execution of cost management services for construction projects, ensuring cost control and quality objectives are met. You are expected to lead cost management project teams and/ or key cost management roles, and coordinate with clients and stakeholders and foster a collaborative and high-performing project environment. This role also includes commission management responsibilities overseeing invoicing processes and project compliance through D-365 to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

• Leading the production of monthly post-contract cost reports and presenting them to the client.
• Leading value engineering and life cycle costing exercise.
• Implement and maintain cost controls mechanisms incorporated into projects’ schedule, cost, risk, and change management.

Financial and Risk Management

• Lead commercial negotiations and contract administration on projects alongside the cost management team
• Responsible for supporting the internal risk management procedures and systems, including client care processes and the contract database.
• Manage invoicing processes using D-365, including:
  • Reviewing and validating invoice data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinating with finance teams to ensure timely submission and approval.
  • Tracking invoice status and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensuring compliance with client billing requirements and internal financial controls.

As a Project Manager, you will lead the execution of small to medium-sized construction and workplace projects, ensuring alignment with time, cost, quality, and performance objectives. You will manage project teams, coordinate stakeholders, and maintain effective project governance.

このような難しさを伴うIoTプロジェクトにおいて、ソラコムではIoTのプロフェッショナルとしてお客様に伴走し、必要な支援を提供するProfessional Services Consultant（以下、PS）が重要な役割を担っています。

ソラコムのPSは、お客様がIoTプラットフォーム「SORACOM」を利用したIoTプロジェクトを進める上で必要とする支援を、IoTと技術のエキスパートとして提供しています。その支援には、数週間の準備と数日の実施期間で行うワークショップ型の支援と、下記の仕事内容の例にあるようなコンサルタントとして比較的長期（3ヶ月前後）にわたり継続的に伴走する支援の2つのパターンがあります。

【仕事内容】
PSは、コンサルティング案件の提案と遂行、提供サービスの拡充、セールスやマーケティングチームと協力してプロモーションの仕組みや施策の立案と実行を行います。

例えば、自社で運営する輸送サービスの車両にトラッカーを取り付け、位置情報や燃費などを管理することで運用効率を最大化したい、というお客様のプロジェクトがあります。こうした案件では、まず営業やソリューションアーキテクトとともに要件を整理し、その後のPoCやプロトタイピングをPSが担います。整理した情報に基づき、GPSトラッカーデバイスの調達・設定や、必要に応じて開発ボードを用いた試作を行います。あわせて、クラウド側ではAmazon Kinesis Streams、AWS Lambda、Amazon DynamoDBなどを活用した設計を行い、GPSデータの蓄積や可視化アプリケーションの実装をお客様とともに進めます。

また、プロジェクトによっては、デバイスサプライヤやシステムインテグレータなど、複数の関係者が関わることもあります。そのような場合には、デバイスからクラウドまですべてを横断する技術的なエキスパートとして、プロジェクトマネジメントを支援しながら、全体が円滑に進むよう推進する役割も担うこともあります。

ソラコムのPSは、プロジェクトの構想段階、あるいは初期段階から参画することが多く、不確実性の高い状況下で利用技術、デバイス、パートナーの選定を行いプロトタイピングを進めるなど、プロジェクト内におけるCTO的な役割を提供していきます。

【必須のスキル】

PSは、IoTの技術的プロフェッショナルとしてお客様との信頼関係を築きながら、プロジェクトを前に進めていくことが求められます。そのため、幅広い技術領域をカバーしつつ、いくつかの専門分野に強みを持ち、自ら手を動かして実践できることが必要です。また、最新の技術を習熟し、かつお客様のユースケースを深く理解し、プロジェクトを円滑に進めるためのコミュニケーション力や調整力も求められます。

お客様とのコミュニケーション能力

• お客様の課題を理解、言語化したうえでそれに対するソリューションを論理的に説明し、理解と同意を得ることができる能力と経験
