We’re searching for an experienced Cleaning Supervisor to handle all of our staff’s responsibilities. The cleaning supervisor’s duties include delegating jobs to the cleaning crew, recognizing and reporting incidences of tardiness, and keeping track of cleaning supplies. You should also notify management of any equipment or furniture that needs to be repaired or replaced and make sure that they are taken care of.

You must be able to develop and implement methods to improve the cleaning department’s performance in order to be successful as a cleaning supervisor. Finally, a great cleaning supervisor should have strong managerial abilities and the ability to guarantee that cleaning activities operate smoothly.

Cleaning Supervisor Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate daily activities of the cleaning staff to ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Create and manage cleaning schedules, ensuring tasks are completed on time and efficiently.
• Inspect work areas regularly to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Train and mentor cleaning staff on procedures, equipment use, and safety protocols.
• Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and order replacements as needed.
• Address client or management concerns and resolve complaints promptly.
• Ensure proper handling, maintenance, and storage of cleaning equipment.
• Prepare reports on cleaning operations and staff performance for management review.
• Enforce workplace health and safety regulations among the team.
• Support recruitment and onboarding of new cleaning staff as required.

Cleaning Supervisor Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional training or certifications in cleaning or facility management is a plus.
• Proven experience as a cleaning supervisor or in a similar supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
• Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to cleaning operations.
• Physical stamina to perform and supervise cleaning tasks as needed.
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.

1. General cleanliness and hygiene of supermarket
2. Sweeping & mopping (including area under shelving) at Selling Area, Store,
3. General washing of floor; sweep & remove dirt silt and other obstructions from all drains prevent choke; to perform immediate spot mopping for instances of dropping and sillage(s); Provision of garbage bags for rubbish disposal at Preparation Area
4. Cleaning tables, sweep and mop floor, empty litter bins & replacing bin liners whenever necessary for office
5. Washing and clean floor with detergent and disinfectant and flush with clean water and mop dry surface at Staff Toilets
6. Dry sweep to remove all rubbish and unwanted debris etc at Loading and unloading bay
7. Removal of dust and dirt of entrance floor mat
8. Empty and cleaning ash tray litter bin
9. Cleaning of trolleys and shopping baskets to remove all stains on them and also remove strings or other items caught on the wheels (to maintain records in line with SPRING requirements)
10. Cleaner will assist to remove those empty carton boxes from selling area upon conducting their routine spot cleaning
