Role Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support transaction banking initiatives, with a focus on payment systems and API development. The role involves working closely with stakeholders to define requirements, map payment flows, and support system integration and delivery.
Key Responsibilities
A. Business Analysis & Documentation
• Develop technical and functional specifications, including requirements traceability
• Design test cases and support test execution
• Track issues and dependencies across project phases
B. Payment Flow & Process Mapping
• Map end-to-end payment flows (as-is and to-be), including exception and reconciliation scenarios
• Interpret and map core banking transaction codes to ISO standards
• Support handling of special processing and error scenarios
C. API & Data Mapping
• Work with JSON-based payment specifications
• Map data to downstream payment processing systems
• Prepare reporting and notification specifications
D. Payment Systems & Operations
• Work with ISO 20022 payment message formats (e.g., pain.001, pain.002)
• Support payment processing, monitoring, and issue investigation
• Work with SWIFT reporting formats (e.g., camt.053/054, MT94x)
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience
• At least 5 years of experience in banking, financial services, or consulting
• Experience in business analysis within transaction banking or payment systems
• Experience in issue tracking and coordination across project delivery phases
• Ability to prepare documentation such as standard operating procedures and obtain stakeholder approvals
• Familiarity with API design principles and security concepts (e.g., JWT)
• Experience in facilitating knowledge sharing or training sessions
Good to Have
• Experience with core banking systems
• Exposure to transaction banking projects across different markets
• Familiarity with messaging systems (e.g., MQ)
