Role Overview

The CTO will lead the technology organization including Engineering, Architecture, Infrastructure and Research.

The successful candidate will build operational rigor across the technology function while ensuring that technology investments directly contribute to customer success, revenue growth and sustainable profitability.

This is a business-facing executive leadership role requiring strong collaboration with Product, Customer Success, Sales, Operations and Executive Leadership.

 Position Summary  

The Client Technology Manager (CTM) position is a high impact hands-on leadership role, responsible for delivering our IT managed services to a portfolio of client accounts with the support of a dedicated technical team. The successful CTM will manage customer relationships, expectations, and liaise to internal communities and stakeholders to ensure customer success. In this dynamic customer-facing, process- oriented role, you will participate in safeguarding our revenue, retaining our clients, growing our accounts, and spearheading projects to modernize client infrastructure. 

In this role, you may be dedicated to one of our flagship clients or support multiple clients.  

 Position Responsibilities  

• Oversee technology services for a portfolio of ECI clients. 

• Maintain strong client relationship, serve as trusted strategic advisor leveraging scheduled, ad-hoc, and C-Level strategic meetings. 

• Develop and maintain a deep functional knowledge of customer’s goals, technical challenges, business objectives, critical infrastructure, and proactively mitigate risk within the environment. 

• Provide client-based feedback to ECI management on new needs not currently addressed within the ECI Platform with a focus on continuous improvements and enhancements. 

• Assist with client facing budget forecasting, financial cost analysis reports and documentation. 

• Engage with client compliance team members to provide security recommendations which cover both business and regulatory needs. 

• Enable clients using latest technology trends surrounding Information Security and Cloud Services (IaaS/SaaS) 

• Drive customer satisfaction through support case evaluation, task management and recurring client engagement. 

• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure successful delivery of project implementations, migrations, and upgrades, which include mail system migrations, cloud site migrations, new office constructions and new technology deployments. 

• Hands-on support of client configurations as they pertain to in-house proprietary standards and best practices. 

• Participate in vendor due-diligence exercises, security reviews, data integrity & availability services. 

• Manage a team of Field Service Engineers and Senior Systems Engineers in supporting the client portfolios and their distributed workforce. 

• Be accountable for client technical escalations and subsequent resolutions. Serve as a main point of contact and act as an escalation point to engineers.

 Position Requirements  

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field, or 5+ years comparable experience in technology related, customer-facing role. 

• 2+ years of experience in a people management capacity 
  ·        Experience in technical projectmanagement as appliedto data/infrastructure migrations, relocations, major system upgrades, and new site deployments.

  ·        Advanced knowledgeof Microsoft Operating Systems such as Windows Serverand Windows 10/11

  ·        Administration experience with Public Cloud platforms with focus in Microsoft 365 and Azure

The project is to provide production support and to manage BAU operations. To ensure availability, stability, security, and cost efficiency of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, OCI, GCP), in a hybrid infrastructure environment. To help the application teams, platform engineering team, etc., in BAU operations, resolve incidents, and continuously improve cloud operations.

• Cloud Operations & Day-to-Day Management
• Manage and support daily operations of cloud infrastructure across AWS, Azure, OCI, and/or GCP
• Execute provisioning, configuration changes, and deployments using Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates, or similar
• Perform routine health checks, patching coordination, and environment validation
• Monitoring, Incident & Reliability Management
• Monitor systems using tools such as Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch.
• Perform first-line and second-line incident response, including: Troubleshooting production issues, Service restoration and escalation

• Support audit requests, evidence gathering, and remediation tracking

Requirements:

• 5+ years of IT experience in infrastructure, cloud, or operations
• Hands-on experience in at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Experience managing production environments (24x7 operations)
• Strong exposure to Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, etc.)
• Knowledge in Container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker)
• Experience supporting large-scale, mission-critical systems

To qualify for the role, you must have

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or similar. MBA or other relevant postgraduate degree is advantageous, especially to underscore business management capabilities.
• Relevant certifications (cloud architecture, data science, project management) or evidence of ongoing professional development in advanced AI domains will strengthen candidacy 
• 12+ years of experience in advanced analytics, AI engineering, or related technology fields, with at least 3–5 years in a consulting leadership role. 
• Proven track record of leading large-scale AI solution implementations for enterprise clients and managing multi-million-dollar programs or portfolios.
• Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding business targets (delivery KPIs and sales goals). 
• Strong business development skills and commercial acumen.
• Proven ability to sell and scope AI engagements, craft proposals, and close deals in a consulting or professional services environment.
• Experienced in shaping statements of work, pricing models, and ensuring profitable delivery.
• Comfortable engaging with procurement and negotiating contracts. 
• Extensive knowledge of AI/ML systems design and modern architectures.
• Hands-on familiarity with large language models and genAI (open-source and commercial), as well as classical ML techniques.
• Understanding of AI infrastructure (cloud AI/ML services on Azure, AWS, GCP; NVIDIA GPU stack; distributed computing frameworks) and considerations for performance, reliability, and cost.
• Ability to guide technical teams on topics like model fine-tuning, MLOps, data engineering, and integration of AI solutions into existing enterprise systems. 
• Broad exposure to applying AI in multiple industries (e.g., finance, healthcare, consumer products, government).
• Able to quickly grasp domain-specific challenges and tailor solutions accordingly.
• Up-to-date knowledge on industry trends and regulatory environments in the APAC region (e.g., data privacy laws, AI governance) to steer compliant and context-aware implementations. 
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Experience and comfortable in advising C-suite and senior executives, translating complex technical concepts into strategic business insights.
• Strong presentation and storytelling skills for both technical and executive audiences.
• Experience in thought leadership (presentations, whitepapers) is a plus.

We are looking to hire an APAC Payments Technology Strategy & Risk Manager for our client in Singapore which is a leading global investment bank.

What you can expect:

The role will sit within ITGPST (International Technology and Global Payments Solutions Technology) APAC Strategy and Innovation function, which works with Application Managers, Enterprise Control functions and COOs across the line of businesses to establish Payments Technology Strategy.

You will oversee the analysis of internal and external change drivers and curating forward looking technology strategy for Payments flows across the region.

What you will do:

• Manage senior stakeholders communication and reporting.
• Analyse current state of technology across payment products for 12 APAC Markets.
• Develop and socialize 3, 5 and 10 year technology strategy articulating change drivers and innovation opportunities.
• Drive risk engagement & management and issue identification;
• Foster the Identify, Escalate, Debate risk culture.
• Assess regulatory (eg MAS, HKMA, CBRC, OJK, RBI, etc) changes impacting technology and operations and drive related risk mitigation program with required stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for enhancing or streamlining execution of technology management processes; partner across multiple divisions to execute.
• Assist business and process owners with identifying the most significant risks including Audit Issues, Self-Identified Audit Issues, Compliance Identified Audit Issues, Regulatory Issues
• Practice and promote good risk culture and risk management within ITGPST, leading participation in technology strategy activities.

Your background:

• Individual with Banking/Payments domain experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in IT with minimum 5-7 plus years of experience.
• Relevant experience in executing Product Owner or Business Analysis functions within Banking IT/Finance IT domain.
• Knowledge of APAC regulations, payment products & understanding of regulatory risk management preferred.
• Ability to ask right questions, conduct deep dives and communicate with relevant stakeholders are the most important, desired skills.
