SDLC & RUNTIME

The SDLC and Runtime (SDLCR) team builds and manages the firm’s mission critical platforms for job scheduling, compute-as-a-service, file transfer, and the firmwide software development lifecycle (e.g., software distribution, automated testing, CI/CD). We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Active Directory (AD) Security Engineer to focus on securing, hardening, and automating enterprise Active Directory environments, ensuring robust Tier 0 protection, privileged access controls, trust hardening, OU/GPO security, and cyber resilience. The engineer will work closely with Red Teams, Penetration Testing, and Threat Detection functions to identify attack paths, simulate AD-based threats, automate recovery capabilities, and continuously strengthen the enterprise AD security posture. 

What will you do as an VP, Active Directory & Entra ID Engineer?

• Design, secure, and manage hybrid identity environments across on-prem Active Directory and Entra ID (Azure AD) to ensure resilience, integrity, and threat resistance.
• Define and implement a clean, compliant target state for identity and access management (IAM), aligning AD and Entra ID security with enterprise IAM processes and governance.
• Conduct threat modelling and exposure assessments for both AD and Entra ID to identify and mitigate identity attack paths.
• Implement and maintain Tier 0 (Privileged Access) controls aligned with Microsoft’s Enterprise Access Model (EAM) and Zero Trust principles.
• Harden AD forests, domains, and trust relationships, as well as Entra ID tenants, to prevent privilege escalation, domain compromise, and lateral movement.
• Design and manage Privileged Access Workstations (PAWs) and enforce administrative boundaries for Tier 0 and Tier 1 assets.

What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years in AD security engineering 
• Deep expertise in Active Directory internals (replication, Kerberos, LDAP, DNS, GPO) and Entra ID architecture (Conditional Access, Identity Protection, PIM, App Registrations, and Connect).

• Proven experience in leading and mentoring engineering teams, including direct people management responsibilities such as performance reviews, career development, and fostering a collaborative team environment.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• BSc / MSc in relevant field (Computer Science, Engineering or related field)

• Experience with AI and machine learning technologies.

• Experience with DevOps, SRE, infrastructure as code, Terraform, AWS

• General knowledge of Linux, Docker, Kubernetes

• Experience with all stages in the lifecycle of developing and running large distributed systems

• Knowledgeable about networking (TCP, IP, UDP, DNS, TLS, HTTP)

Direct Responsibilities:

• Administration, operation, and hardening of Corporate / Resources / Isolation AD forests.
• Management of Domain Controllers (Windows Server 2019/2022), GPO, DNS, Sites & Services, replication.
• Management of Entra ID, IAM, and AD Connect.
• Participation in Group projects: AD consolidation, DNS redesign, tiering, and securing sensitive accounts.
• Automation using PowerShell, industrialization of operations (audits, provisioning, remediation).
• Contribution to the AD Disaster Recovery Plan (detection, restoration, technical communication).
• Monitoring & auditing: Change Auditor, EDR, log collection.
• Participation in transversal projects: M&A, application integration, onboarding/offboarding, security compliance.
• Documentation (DAT/DEX), contribution to AD governance.
• Ensure that the practices comply with local and international regulations and industry standards.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for internal or external audits
• Contribute to the Permanent Control framework for implementation of policies and procedures in day-to-day business activities, such as Control Plans

• Entra ID / Azure AD Connect / Identity Governance.

• Security concepts: RBAC, Zero Trust, MFA, AD Tiering.
• Tools: Sempris ADFR/Forest Druid, Ranger AD, PingCastle, Microsoft 365, Defender, GraphAPI.
• Knowledge of AD DRP/BCP appreciated.
• Bachelor's degree +2 to +5 with significant experience in AD / Entra ID.
• Strong security awareness, rigor, and mastery of critical environments.
• Ability to work in cross‑functional teams within an international environment.
• Ability to document, automate, and anticipate risks.
