The Section Manager – Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) is responsible for leading and strengthening supplier quality performance across Makino Asia’s supply chain. Main Duties & Responsibilities

Supplier Quality Management & Governance

• Develop supplier capability improvement plans focusing on process robustness and defect prevention.
• Collaborate with SCM for supplier performance reviews (e.g., QBR support).

Field Issues & Corrective Feedback Loop

• Lead investigation of supplier-related field issues, defects, and rejection trends.
• Ensure effective feedback to suppliers and translation of field issues into process improvements.
• Support warranty and critical claim resolution through root cause analysis and corrective action.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with:

o Supply Chain Management (SCM) for supplier performance and parts availability.

o Production / Assembly teams for incoming quality and defect containment.

o Quality Engineering (QE) for process improvements and failure analysis.

• Support cross-factory quality alignment initiatives (Yokoten / best practice sharing).

Process Improvement & Quality Transformation

• Drive transition from “firefighting” to preventive quality systems through:

o Risk-based QA checkpoints.

o Standardization of quality processes.

o Digitalization / data-driven quality monitoring.

• Lead or support QA-wide continuous improvement and Kaizen initiatives.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and develop a team of SQE engineers, technicians, and admin staff.
• Provide technical guidance, coaching, and performance management.
• Ensure effective manpower planning, resource allocation, and team competency development.

Reporting & Performance Management

• Monitor and report key SQE performance indicators:

o Supplier defect rates

o VQI trends

o Incoming quality performance

• Prepare monthly reports and management updates for QA and senior leadership.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Quality Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the precision manufacturing or machine tool industry.
• At least 3–5 years of leadership experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance (QA), or Quality Engineering (QE).

JOB MISSION

The Application Engineer Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, training and development of Application Engineers who provide support for integration or technical projects.  Help manage the P/L (profit and loss) while ensuring all client and company business needs are met.

As the Software Engineering Manager for the newly formed software engineering team within the Cloud & Third-Party Security team in Singapore, you will be a foundational lead for our new, high-impact software engineering team. You will act as a technical leader to hire and manage software engineers and work cross-functionally with stakeholders across Google to enable achieving our risk reduction goals.

• Build and lead a team of software engineers, combining technical leadership and people management to build scalable products that identify and remediate security gaps in Alphabet's usage of public cloud infrastructure, third-party vendors, and SaaS.
• Drive the technical roadmap to support risk reduction goals by addressing ambiguous problems, identifying future work, and ensuring technical excellence and manageable complexity.
• Oversee engineering projects, drive key architectural decisions and influence strategies across partner security and software engineering teams while building strong collaborations.
• Partner with cross-functional roles (e.g., Security Engineers, TPMs) to define requirements and implement systems that enable the rollout of controls to reduce the risk of undermanaged cloud and third-party vendor usage.
• Cultivate a high-performing engineering culture by overseeing staffing, driving professional growth through mentorship, and leading career development and performance management initiatives.
  

Minimum qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience programming in Java, Python, Golang, C++ or equivalent codebases.
• 3 years of experience building software for data privacy or security (e.g., identity and access management).
• 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• Ability to present complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong ability to partner with global stakeholders to align team goals with broader organizational objectives.
• Ability to deliver against product deliverables in ambiguous environments.
• Proven track record of managing an engineering team, with a strong background in relevant security domains, particularly in cloud infrastructure and third party security controls.

Job Description

• Formulate, implement, and promote compliance with project policies and procedures, including health, safety, and environmental requirements
• Review and ensure project-specific management systems and documentation are properly implemented
• Set clear objectives and targets for key project processes, ensuring consistency with strategic goals
• Ensure that the project is constructed in compliance with the specification and drawings to minimise any rework during both the construction and defectliability periods
• Assign responsibilities to project team members and ensure effective coordination of site activities
• Support manpower planning and ensure deployment of competent personnel in line with project requirements
• Monitor progress against the overall project program
• Identify and address potential problems that could affect the project deadlines
• Review and manage monthly costs, identifying areas of cost overruns and implementing the necessary control to keep within budget
• Manage the project to ensure the project targets are achieved, within the giventimeline, quality standards, and project objectives
• Implement project monitoring system to examine the overall performance of the project in relation to time, costs, quality, safety,and environmental performance
• Implement planning strategies, and audits/reviews for the project
• Review and recommend the appointment of suppliers and subcontractors
• Coordinate PTW system and ensure compliance with site safety procedures
• Review, sign, allocate follow-up action for outgoing and incoming correspondence
• Review and approve material requisition forms submitted by engineers
• Ensure there are monitoring and reporting processes are set-up and implemented
• Interface with project team, partners, clients, stakeholders, consultants, designers, vendors, subcontractors for management of the planning function in accordancewith establish procedures
• Review, comment, and support all document submissions and correspondence to client, regulatory and government bodies/agencies
• Supervise employees engaged in planning and control activities, maintaining functional control over all on-site planning/scheduling staff
• Provide guidance and identify training needs for subordinates and colleagues involved in project planning, programming systems, and project monitoring and needs
• Evaluate, review, and appraise on the performance of the employees

Job Requirement:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of experience in large-scale infrastructure works, or projects of similar scale, complexity, and nature.
• Familiar with safety procedures and requirements at construction sites.
• Strong knowledge and experience in the construction industry.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with multiple parties.
• 6 days work week.
