Job Summary

The Wintel Engineer provides expert support in planning, installing, and administering Workplace Management systems. This role includes managing workplace environments, OS deployment, and improving operational procedures for efficiency and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, test, and maintain endpoint hardware and software, including operating systems, applications, drivers, upgrades, updates, and hotfixes to ensure optimal device performance
• Plan, implement, and support patch management and software distribution services to maintain system security and compliance
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available AWS or Azure infrastructure and cloud services to support business applications
• Deploy, configure, and manage AWS or Azure services such as EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, Azure App Services, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Functions for cloud-native application support
• Collaborate with development teams to architect and deploy cloud-native applications that meet business requirements
• Implement and maintain automation and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like CloudFormation or Terraform to streamline cloud infrastructure management
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to AWS or Azure infrastructure, applications, and connectivity to ensure service continuity
• Implement backup and disaster recovery strategies for AWS or Azure resources to safeguard data and maintain availability
• Administer back-end infrastructure services with a focus on PC imaging to support endpoint management
• Support desktop and server escalations related to Workplace Management tools to resolve technical issues promptly
• Perform quality assurance testing for changes to endpoint devices to ensure reliability and compliance
• Contribute to streamlining daily operational processes through automation to improve efficiency
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and reports to support knowledge sharing and compliance
• Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support IT operations and business needs

Required competencies and certifications

• In-depth knowledge of AWS and Azure services and architecture to design and manage cloud infrastructure
• Proficient scripting skills in Python, Shell, or other relevant languages to automate tasks and support infrastructure management
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as CloudFormation or Terraform to implement automation in cloud environments
• Strong understanding of networking concepts and security best practices in AWS and Azure to protect cloud resources
• Extensive experience with Windows Servers, Active Directory, PowerShell, Group Policy Objects, and Workplace Management Tools (e.g., HCL Big Fix, MS SCCM, Citrix VDI, Nexthink) to manage enterprise IT environments
• Experience with PC imaging deployment, patch management, and software distribution for desktop and server devices to maintain endpoint integrity
• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively
• Ability to work independently and in heterogeneous IT environments to deliver reliable IT services

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Computer Engineering or Information Systems as a foundation for technical expertise
• Experience with MSI technology, application packaging, deployment processes, and Windows Installer Technology for advanced software management
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems (e.g., Git) to support development and deployment workflows
• MS Server Certification preferred to validate Windows Server expertise
• AWS and Azure certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Developer, Azure Administrator, or Azure Solutions Architect are a plus to demonstrate cloud proficiency
• Strong analysis, design, and documentation skills to support IT project delivery and knowledge management

Job Summary

The Wintel Engineer works within a team to ensure daily availability and optimal performance of Wintel Servers, managing Windows Server OS installations, administration, incident resolution, and Root Cause Analysis to support critical business functions.

Responsibilities

• Implement ongoing maintenance, security, and availability of Windows-based infrastructure aligned with business needs
• Troubleshoot and resolve Windows OS incidents and problems following customer processes
• Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for OS-related service problems to support problem management
• Coordinate with support vendors for maintenance, support, and issue resolution
• Support Windows Server systems, system software, clustering software, and management agents
• Analyze historical usage data for CPU, memory, I/O, and storage to identify trends and inform capacity planning
• Develop and implement capacity improvement plans based on analysis
• Assist in developing and maintaining the Technical Disaster Recovery Plan
• Provide technical support and execute the Disaster Recovery plan during incidents and drills
• Set up and manage Windows Active Directory, including Group Policy Objects (GPOs) and user profiles
• Configure and manage Windows Clustering environments
• Set up and manage VMware hosts (including vCenters) and virtual machines across OS platforms (Linux and Windows)
• Set up and manage Hyper-V hosts and virtual machines
• Configure and manage NetBackup and/or BackupExec backup solutions, defining backup policies based on industry standards
• Manage enterprise-wide Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager, including policy definition per industry standards
• Manage server OS patching procedures and implement security hardening measures
• Perform system backups and restores according to business requirements
• Regularly review event logs to monitor system health and security
• Evaluate and review software patches before and after installation to ensure stability
• Manage and monitor systems using monitoring software to maintain performance and availability
• Conduct operational meetings with customers to review system status and improvements
• Write and update technical design, build, and process documentation to maintain accurate records

Required competencies and certifications

• Knowledge in Microsoft Cluster is a must
• Documented knowledge or certification for Windows Server 2003/2008 is a must; Windows Server 2012 knowledge is advantageous
• Working knowledge of VMware vSphere 4.x and above
• Working knowledge of SAN Storage management
• ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent work experience

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Experience working in a government agency
• Experience with installation and operation of Windows Servers (2003/2008/2012), software, and backup solutions in large enterprise environments
• Knowledge of server hardware and equipment such as HP, IBM, Dell servers, and HP/IBM SAN

Responsibilities:

• Collaborating with business users to understand their key priorities and use cases; proposing and developing solutions using data science and/or Generative AI techniques to drive business value
• Data wrangling& analysis - preprocessing, cleaning and feature engineering
• Supporting the daily operations and maintenance of deployed data science models and products, including Assistants on PAIR / AIBots
• Developing backend APIs and services to support AI model deployment and integration
• Building frontend interface sand user experiences for AI-powered applications
• Documenting changes to existing products
• Reviewing and implementing fixes for reported security vulnerabilities

Requirements:

• Strong understanding and practical application of AI/ML techniques for regression and classification problems
• Familiar with widely used Python libraries such as pandas, matplotlib, scikit-learn, XGBoost, NLTK, and spaCy
• Good understanding of LLM concepts, including context windows, embeddings, chunking, token management, and architectures such as RAG
• Experience in context engineering, prompt design, and prompt optimization strategies for GenAI solutions
• Proficient in Git and SQL for version control, data manipulation, and development workflows
• Proficient in Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Microsoft Power BI, and MicroStrategy

Key Responsibilities
