Position Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Site Engineers to join our team. The successful candidates will play a key role in overseeing road construction, ground foundation works, and traffic diversion activities on site. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with local experience in civil engineering, looking to contribute to significant infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage day-to-day activities of road construction and ground foundation works.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and quality control on site.

• Oversee traffic diversion plans and ensure smooth operations in coordination with relevant stakeholders.

• Manage and coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective delivery of the project.

• Monitor progress of construction activities and prepare regular reports for project management.

• Conduct inspections and resolve issues related to site works.

• Liaise with local authorities, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulations and standards.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant local experience in road construction, ground foundation works, and traffic diversion.

• Experience in water pipe works and strong knowledge of laying water pipes.

• At least 5 years of work experience in the related field, preferably in Pipe Jacking of Water, Gas, and Sewer Pipes.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by the Professional Engineers (PE) Board or equivalent qualifications accepted by the Commissioner of Building Control for registration as a Resident Engineer.

• Strong knowledge of construction processes, safety protocols, and quality standards.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

• Good proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

Job Description

• Study project scope, drawings, specifications, Schedule of Price preambles, and contract conditions to prepare accurate tender cost estimates.

• Prepare and submit tender documents and respond to client clarifications during the tender process.

• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to support tender and quotation submissions.

• Prepare engineering estimates, Bills of Quantities (BOQ), and bid documents based on drawings, specifications, and method statements.

• Develop project budgets and monitor project expenditures to ensure effective cost control.

• Prepare and maintain project cash flow forecasts based on approved project schedules and interim payments.

• Liaise with Project Managers and site personnel to gather work progress details and supporting documents for monthly progress claims.

• Prepare and submit progress claims to clients and follow up on payment certifications.

• Monitor design changes and variations and submit the necessary notifications to clients.

• Coordinate with engineers to obtain instructions and supporting documentation for variation works.

• Prepare variation cost estimates and obtain the required approvals.

• Track variation works and submit interim claims based on approved variation costs.

• Prepare subcontract agreements, Letters of Award, and other contractual documentation.

• Review and issue payment certificates to subcontractors.

• Maintain accurate records of project progress, claims, variations, and payment status.

• Perform other related duties and ad-hoc responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, or Professional Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, Cost Estimation, Contract Administration, or Construction Cost Management.

• Experience in civil engineering, infrastructure, roadworks, utility works, or construction projects is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of tendering processes, contract administration, budgeting, cost control, and variation management.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents.

• Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

• Good communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Proactive team player with strong organizational and time management skills.

• Willing to work at the Head Office located at Tuas South, Singapore.
