Molex Singapore is seeking for a Mold Design Engineer to join the team. As a Mold Design Engineer, you are responsible for mold design. Follow up on fabrication, coordinate with the tooling team for debugging/First-Off Tooling (FOT), qualify the product, and transfer the mold to production while maintaining the PAR rate. Support team goals and objectives through various projects and assignments.

What You Will Do

• Review connector housing designs during design review meetings as per DFM and FMEA.
• Perform mold design and conduct mold design review meetings based on guidelines and Mold Design FMEA.
• Develop molds as per the development schedule to support new product launches and ramp-ups.
• Collaborate with the Tool Room on fabrication follow-up and debugging issues.
• Work closely with Debug and Process Engineers on FOT and mold qualification.
• Coordinate with external vendors for subcontracted molds, handling quotations, specifications, reviews, follow-ups, FA closure, and technical issues.
• Support molding improvements and pre-production runs.
• Maintain detailed documentation for mold design and development.
• Analyze new products for mold flow and warpage using CAE software.
• Participate in departmental focal points and projects.
• Engage in value creation activities to drive new technology and methodologies, GLSS and JDI savings to reduce lead time, cost, and improving quality.
• Develop strategies for TTM/HMLV for low volume production with shorter lead times using standard mold bases and pocket designs.
• Reduce QN and QAP through tooling improvements.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Plastic Technology.
• Minimum 3 to 6 years of experience in mold design, fabrication, and development of plastic molds.
• Good knowledge of CAE software, preferably Mold Flow.

Job Description

As a Design Engineer, you will report to and assisting Design Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical solutions and offer design advice to internal teams.
• Manage and control design deliverables related to BIM, Technical, contractual, and cost requirements.
• Review subcontractors' shop drawings to ensure compliance with the design specifications and project standards.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience in civil & structural or architectural design for LTA MRT projects.
