Position Description:
The Postdoctoral Research Fellow will work closely with one or more faculty members in the Department of Accounting. This work will involve active research projects. The position is fully focused on research. There are no teaching responsibilities associated with this role.
Research assistance activities will vary but are expected to include several types of work.
• Developing research ideas and contributing to study design
• Collecting, cleaning, and managing large datasets
• Conducting empirical, analytical, or experimental analyses
• Performing literature reviews and helping to position papers for top journals
• Drafting sections of research papers and responding to referee reports
• Assisting with grant-related research deliverables when applicable
The Fellow is also expected to pursue independent research. Active participation in the department's research culture is expected as well. This includes attending workshops and seminars.
Qualifications:
Applicants should hold a PhD in Accounting or a closely related field such as Finance or Economics. Candidates who are near completion of their PhD may also apply. Applicants should have strong training in relevant research methods. These methods may be archival or experimental or analytical in nature. Applicants should demonstrate evidence of research potential. An interest in high-quality academic research is important. The ability to work independently is necessary. The ability to work collaboratively is also necessary.
