• Experience of 3 months or more in a similar professional role, with experience in with personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications. 

The role 

In the role of Care Worker you will be providing our aged care clients with home help services such as: 

• General housekeeping and making beds 
• Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors 
• Washing, folding and ironing laundry 
• Meal preparation and grocery shopping. 

You will also be providing our aged care clients with personal care services such as: 

• Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day 
• Assisting clients to take their medications 
• Assisting with mobility and therapy goals 
• Providing complex care for customers with high care needs, such as dementia  
• Providing social and emotional support  
• Providing the client with transport to lifestyle activities or appointments 
• Helping the family carer to have a break or an opportunity to do other things.

The Animal Referral Hospital – Essendon Fields is a multidisciplinary veterinary facility comprising three key departments: Emergency and Critical Care, Small Animal Internal Medicine, and Surgery. Our mission is to deliver exceptional Emergency and Specialist services, with our Emergency and Critical Care department operating 24/7 year-round.

This role is available Casual or Part-time.

As part of the Customer Care team your duties will include: 

• Greet and assist clients in a professional, timely and warm manner
• Handling high volumes of inbound calls efficiently
• Managing the hospital’s general email inbox
• Correspond with clients, referring veterinarians, 3rd party suppliers and other team members, ensuring to provide appropriate and pertinent information
• Discuss difficult topics with clients, such as aftercare options, euthanasia consent forms, and financial matters, in a compassionate and empathetic manner
• Schedule and manage appointments for each department
• Managing invoicing, payments (EFTPOS/credit card, direct debit), and processing 3rd party financing (VetPay, ZipPay, etc.)
• Processing insurance claims, including GapOnly claims, through the practice management software
• Entering and maintaining accurate and complete records and data related to patients and clients
• Maintain a consistently high level of organisation and cleanliness in the reception area

About You:

• The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years' experience in a fast-paced reception or front of house role in the veterinary industry, health care environment or similar
• Ability to efficiently manage and prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining composure under pressure, such as high call volumes, a crowded reception waiting room, and Level 1 presenting patients
• Tech-savvy with a proficiency in Microsoft 360
• A meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accurate data entry
• Ability to effectively communicate with people from diverse backgrounds in a compassionate and empathic way
• Ability to handle challenging and/or demanding clients with tact and professionalism

Part-time ECC Nurse Assistant | Animal Referral Hospital – Essendon Fields, VIC

• Casual or Perm Part time, 20h/week

The Animal Referral Hospital (ARH) Essendon Fields is a 24 hour-a-day/7 days-a-week hospital with a dedicated team working across ECC, Internal Medicine and Surgery. We aim to provide a responsive and comprehensive specialist and emergency service to veterinarians, their clients and their pets.

As a Nurse Assistant with ARH Essendon, you will be a key part of the veterinary care team, helping to deliver high-quality, compassionate care to our patients in a collaborative and professional environment. Working under the guidance of experienced veterinary nurses, veterinarians, and other team members, you will contribute to the overall wellbeing of patients and the smooth function of the hospital. 

Duties will include: 

• Assist veterinary nurses and veterinarians as required

• Proficiency in anaesthetic monitoring

• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care

Emergency & Critical Care Veterinary Nurse | ARH Essendon | Casual, Part-time, Full-time

ARH is well equipped with CT, MRI, digital radiology, ultrasound, endoscope, in-house laboratory, ventilators, patient monitors and sophisticated emergency and surgical facilities. ARH utilises fully integrated Rx works software and operates with Smartflow electronic hospital charting. We also have the added advantage of internal referral to our associate specialist departments in surgery, medicine, and advanced imaging.
