Primary responsibilities:

• Reporting directly to Assistant/Business Manager in the operations for their respective sections - OGC Petroleum Department.
• Assist in the correct execution, including advising the Admin Department on reporting and invoicing, of all orders for respective sections for inspection and testing services in the Petroleum Department - in accordance with order requirements, client standard operating procedures, industry standards, OGC standards or policy directives.

Specific responsibilities: 

• Assist the Assistant/ Business Manager in overseeing the operations of their respective sections.
• Accept as well as review all new orders and to complete the Order Review Checklist.
• Assist in the optimum utilization of resources for all activities within the section to maximize profitability.
• Monitor daily performance and investigate any problems with a view to attaining a zero-defect operation. Ensure that the Corrective Actions Report /Safety Incident Report are implemented accordingly with copies filed with QA Manager.
• Coordinate/liaise with clients on any operational problems.
• Co-ordinate with Laboratory Coordinators for quality testing and client’s requirements
• Approve inspection reports, certificates, and verify surveyor’s daily overtime/petty cash claims.
• Assists the Assistant Business Manager to ensure that on all job files must contain the Order acknowledgement, Instructions to Surveyor and Instructions for Laboratory analysis (If required) prior to handing it to the admin staff.
• Assists the Assistant/ Business Manager in the development of existing and new businesses through regular client contacts.
• Assists in the development and training of staff to required levels of expertise and administer department's performance appraisal techniques.
• Obtain client’s feedback regularly with a view for further improvements.
• Ensure that all operations are conducted within client and recognized industry health and safety regulations and surveyors are equipped for the tasks.
• To recognize that the Department Quality System is fully implemented as per the QA Manual.
• Site visit of their respective terminals every quarter of the year and establish further contacts/feedback with the Terminal ‘s representatives and update on the condition of their site offices.
• Perform any other responsibilities as assigned by Management.

Primary responsibilities:

• Perform third-party inspection of petroleum and chemical products at various terminals on quality and quantity control of bulk liquid cargoes. Ensure that company objectives are achieved in carrying out inspections at the highest quality and service levels.

Specific responsibilities:

• Undertake training of new trainees in chemical inspection within the division as assigned by management.

• Assist senior surveyors in reviewing job files prior to inspection, ensuring everything is complete and in order.

• Carry out proper reference sampling of various liquid and gas cargoes.

• Perform inspection of loading, unloading, and transshipment of chemical bulk liquid products and gas tankers.

• Inspect shore tanks, ships’ tanks, related pumps, and lines for cleanliness, performing wall washes when required.

• Measure shore tanks and ships’ tanks to ascertain volumes and weights of cargo according to SGS standard calculation methods.

• Take action to prevent possible contamination during loading or unloading and reconcile any variances.

• Record all timings and occurrences during loading or unloading, issue NOAD or LOP to Chief Officer or Terminal, and inform operational staff of deviations, discrepancies, or contamination.

• Assist in the preparation and maintenance of all necessary tools, instruments, and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.

• Check with Port Operations, agents, and terminals for arrival and berthing status of vessels.

• Check draft field reports, organize them, and submit to Business Manager or Assistant Business Manager accurately and timely. Maintain good communication skills, both orally and in writing, to report results of findings.

• Keep Business Manager or Assistant Business Manager updated on daily activities, including special circumstances or problems encountered during inspection.

• Maintain all equipment, apparatus, and bicycles used in good working condition.

• Assist in daily operations as required and perform any other responsibilities as assigned by management.

• Perform work in accordance with SGS OGC Standard Procedures and Local Procedures.

• On-site Calibration

• Assist the Senior Engineer on day-day Operations and documentation.

Specific responsibilities:

• Assist in fieldwork, calibration, testing, and equipment setup

• Carry out outdoor work at various site locations

• Support senior engineers in project execution and daily operations

• Prepare job-related documentation and reports

• Ensure adherence to safety standards and work procedures

• Perform other engineering duties as assigned
