THIS ROLE:

Pacific Eagle Asset Management is a large single family office that manages a diversified multi-asset portfolio, with offices in Singapore and Hong Kong.

We are recruiting a suitable candidate to join the risk management team as a risk analyst. Reporting to the senior risk manager of the family office, the responsibilities of this risk analyst are to:

• Keep abreast of macro-economic, geo-political and capital market developments, and assess their impact on global capital markets and counterparty risks on PEAM investments and portfolios
• Participate in meetings highlighting the market and counterparty risks of PEAM portfolios to senior management and the relevant committees;
• Generate accurate and timely reports, highlighting the performances and market and counterparty risks of PEAM total portfolio and various sub-portfolios;
• Ensure that critical risk issues are escalated, and resolved in a timely manner;
• Enhance and maintain risk models to accurately reflect the market risks, enabling proper monitoring of PEAM total portfolio and the various sub-portfolios, including conducting sensitivity analysis for existing investment activities;
• Enhance and maintain the infrastructure supporting the generation of various reports: performance and risk reports, including timely updates to senior management.
• Conduct Performance attribution analysis
• Monitor investment teams compliance of investment guidelines set in various (discretionary and non discretionary)mandates, ensuring appropriate steps are being taken by relevant team to address breaches, if any, as well as reporting these breaches to senior management on a timely basis.

Knowledge and skills required include:

• A good degree in IT, Engineering, Finance or related fields of study. FRM qualification and/or CFA is preferred
• Detail-oriented, possess initiative and comfortable with multi-tasking on multiple projects and research
• Driven, pro-active and keen to learn are important attributes
• Some programming skills (R/Python)
• Sound knowledge of financial instruments and good grasp of risk and performance-related concepts are required
• Clear and concise in verbal and written communication

Language:

• Proficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skills.

In this role, you will work closely with the Management Team to support the growth, performance, and value creation of our portfolio companies, as well as execute fund-level operations. You may also be involved in the broader ecosystem-building efforts, including think-tank initiatives and industry events.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Monitor and analyse the financial performance and operational metrics of assigned portfolio companies. Conduct deep-dive analysis to identify market trends, risks and opportunities on specific portfolio companies. Provide insightful analysis and assist in regular reviews with the Management Team.

·       Work with the Management Team to assist the portfolio company leadership to implement growth initiatives, operational improvements and strategic value creation plans.

·       Support the preparation of portfolio reports for internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Limited Partners). 

·       Contribute to annual audit cycles, such as gathering of commercial and financial information from portfolio companies, the preparation of the fund/portfolio valuation analysis, and liaising with stakeholders such as the auditors and portfolio companies. 

·       Support the interaction with third-party service providers such as the fund administrator, corporate secretary, and other fund-related service providers.

·       Assist in managing aspects of the office such as policies and procedures, as well as coordination of meetings, events, and team-building activities. 

·       Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including investors, start-ups, and industry partners to enhance both portfolio impact and future deal flow.

Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s degree from a reputable university is required.

·       Fresh graduate or up to 1 year of relevant experience in Private Equity, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, Management Consulting or Corporate Development, with exposure to portfolio management or post-deal value creation preferred.

·       Strong network and deep understanding of the Private Equity, Venture Capital and start-up ecosystem.

·       Critical-thinking, analytical rigor and sound decision-making capabilities.

·       Strong quantitative skills and proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques and scenario analysis.

·       Strong grasp of AI and associated math models and technologies is preferred.

·       Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.

·       Detail-orientated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
