JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Client Relationship Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a designated portfolio of Key institutional clients (eg hedge funds, asset managers, family offices, and sovereign wealth funds), fostering long-term partnerships.
• Proactively engage clients to understand and anticipate their evolving business needs, operational requirements, and strategic roadmaps, identifying opportunities for service enhancement, deepening relationships to maintain and grow their activities with GS

• Leverage client insights to influence development plans - Partner with internal teams to shape functional solution designs, growing into a subject-matter expert who uses deep domain knowledge to craft innovative, value-added solutions.
• Collaborate with sales, trading and account managers to identify and prioritize product enhancements, redesign business processes, and leverage client data to optimize infrastructure
• Analyze feedback and internal data to increase STP, reduce exceptions and improve client experience. Review thematic client queries, diagnose manual-process and control gaps, propose automated solutions, and work with internal stakeholders to implement them.
• Lead internal forums to review client request trackers and address workflow/booking protocol enhancements. Build and maintain project plans, ensure governance standards are met, track milestone progress, and escalate and resolve problems promptly.
• Investigate platform SLE breaches, coordinate responses to live issues, and manage client-specific requests. Lead end-to-end delivery by conducting impact analyses and driving issue resolution.

Operational Excellence & Complex Problem Solving:

• Oversee and drive the resolution of highly complex operational, technical, and service-related issues across the full suite of products and processes including Prime Services (e.g. financing, securities lending, listed derivatives and OTC clearing, synthetic prime, reporting, margin oversight) and Franchise products and functions (eg. Equity and Fixed Income Execution, OTC Derivatives – Equity Derivatives, Credit and Rates products, and FX).
• Act as a strategic liaison between clients and internal teams (Operations, Technology, Risk, Legal, Compliance) to ensure seamless service delivery, efficient prioritisation of issue resolution, and proactive communication on complex issues 

Product & Market Expertise:

• Possess a deep and comprehensive understanding of Prime Services and Execution products, global financial markets, market structure, and the regulatory landscape
• Provide expert guidance and thought leadership to clients on product capabilities, market trends, regulatory changes impacting their business, and the adoption of new reporting and technology applications.
• Stay abreast of industry developments, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to proactively advise clients and internal stakeholders.

Risk Management & Compliance:

• Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, credit, and reputational risks associated with client activities and service delivery, escalating potential risks to relevant stakeholders at an early stage.
• Ensure strict adherence to internal policies, procedures, and all relevant regulatory requirements, including performing checks around short sales violations, cancel/corrections of trades, and aged settlements.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of robust risk controls, regulatory reviews and client service best practices.

Leadership & Strategic Contribution:

• Contribute to team strategy, process improvements, and knowledge-sharing initiatives, including participating in working group calls with global audiences.

PRIME BROKERAGE

Prime Brokerage (PB) within Global Markets provides a suite of services to hedge funds and other professional investors. Middle office initiatives are focused on increasing STP to drive scale across the Securities business, with an emphasis on high STP rates and quick query resolution to provide a seamless client experience. This is to be achieved in part by a multi-year system and flow convergence programme, as well as consolidating functions across Operations to form a broader Equity middle office.

Responsibilities

• Review, approve and provide oversight of cash transactions including payments & journals, with accountability for escalation and control frameworks
• Lead resolution of complex cash queries from internal stakeholders and external clients, ensuring timely and accurate outcomes
• Maintain deep understanding of internal and external regulations, and drive adherence across the team

As an Executive Director within the Futures Sales team in Singapore, you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our futures execution and clearing franchise across the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region. This is a senior client-facing role requiring a sophisticated understanding of global futures markets, market structure, and regulatory frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

• Business Development & Origination: Identify, target, and secure new institutional client mandates for futures execution and clearing across Singapore and the broader APAC region.

Description (Team description, responsibilities and main tasks of the role, etc.)

We are seeking a highly motivated professional to join our Structured Finance team as a Senior Vice President or Executive Director.  In this role, you will support the origination, structuring and execution of Asset Finance transactions, with a primary focus on aircraft and vessels.  The position will be based in either Singapore, Hong Kong or Tokyo where you will contribute to expanding our activities in the Asia-Pacific region, working closely with clients, internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver tailored financing solutions.  This position offers the opportunity to lead complex deals in a fast-paced market, contributing to the bank’s strategic objectives in sustainable and innovative asset financing.

Key Responsibilities:

▪          Origination and Business Development:  identify and pursue new business opportunities in aircraft and vessel financing, including leasing, secured lending, and structured finance deals.  Build and maintain relationships with key clients, such as airlines, shipping companies, lessors, and investors, to develop a pipeline of transactions.

▪          Transaction Execution:  lead the end-to-end execution of deals, from initial structuring and due diligence to negotiation, documentation, and closing.  Collaborate with legal, risk, compliance, and credit teams to ensure efficient processes while mitigating risk.

▪          Market Research and Strategy:  monitor market trends, regulatory developments, and competitive landscapes in the aviation and maritime industries.  Provide insights and recommendations to senior management on potential opportunities and risks in the sector.

▪          Client Relationship Management:  act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering customized financing solutions that align with their strategic goals.  Foster long-term partnerships to drive repeat business and referrals.

▪          Team Collaboration and Leadership:  mentor junior team members, contribute to cross-functional projects, and support the overall growth of the Asset Finance business.  Ensure adherence to the bank’s policies, ESG principles, and international standards in all transactions.

▪          Risk Management:  assess credit, operational, and market risks associated with asset finance deals, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies to protect the bank’s interests.

Qualifications (Academic background, previous experience, languages, technical knowledge, soft skills, etc.)

Qualification & Experience

▪          Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Economics or related disciplines; advanced degrees (eg. MBA, CFA, etc) or professional qualifications are highly desirable.

▪          7 to 12+ years of relevant experience in Asset Finance or related roles with banking, leasing, or advisory firms.

Knowledge & Skills

▪          Proven track record in originating and executing transactions specifically in aircraft and/or vessel financing.

▪          Familiarity with international financing regulations, including those relevant to aviation (eg. Cape Town Convention) and the maritime sectors.

▪          Additional experience in Project Finance (e.g., power, infrastructure, or TMT) or specialized Structured Finance products is highly desirable.

▪          Strong expertise in deal structuring, financial modelling, credit analysis.

▪          Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship building abilities.

▪          Ability to work independently and collaboratively to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines

▪          Willingness to travel within the Asia-Pacific region and occasionally to Europe.

▪          Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and AI analytical tools

Language

▪          Fluent in spoken and written English. Spanish or Japanese (or other Asian languages) will be viewed favourably. 

Investment Advisors (IA) are investment specialists within the front office team. The primary role of the IA is to formulate investment strategies and work with Relationship Managers in managing client portfolios.

Responsibilities

• Provide premium investment advisory to Private Banking clients and formulate investment strategies that align with client’s target strategic assets allocation to meet investment objectives and risk profile
• Communicate on house views to the respective marketing teams and work with product specialist for specific support and training
• Partner Relationship Managers on client meetings to articulate investment ideas, investment concepts, create investment proposals and conduct portfolio reviews
• Participate in product idea generation and solutions by:

1. Keeping abreast of products in the market
2. Proposing new product ideas
3. Promoting ideas approved and endorsed by the Product Council where applicable
4. Developing, monitoring and following up on new trading ideas related to cash equities, bonds, FX as well as structured products under ELNs, KODAs/DEKODAs, equity options, range accrual notes

• Ensure adherence to internal and external regulations and policies at all times

Requirements

• At least 10 years in financial industry in an investment advisory position
