Job Purpose:

About the role

The Procurement & Logistics Associate supports the day-to-day procurement and logistics operations of the Company, with a primary focus on logistics coordination. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement & Sales Support Executive to manage global sourcing,supplier relationships, procurement activities, and export customer coordination for our food and pet food business. The successful candidate will ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of products while supporting export sales operations and maintaining strong relationships with local & overseas customers and distributors.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Supplier Management

• Source and procure food products, pet food products from local and international suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new suppliers to ensure supply continuity and competitive pricing.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor supplier performance, quality standards, and delivery reliability.
• Resolve procurement, quality, and supply-related issues with suppliers.

Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination

• Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, and customs brokers to ensure smooth import and export operations.
• Manage purchase orders, shipment schedules, and inventory replenishment.
• Monitor lead times and maintain adequate stock levels to support production and customer demand.
• Ensure timely delivery of goods while optimizing freight and logistics costs.

Food Safety & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure all purchased products and materials comply with food safety, quality, and pet food regulatory requirements.
• Maintain supplier certifications, product specifications, and compliance documentation.
• Support audits and supplier qualification processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international trade regulations and import/export requirements.

Export Sales Coordination & Customer Support

• Coordinate export orders and shipment schedules with overseas distributors, importers, and customers.
• Follow up on customer forecasts, purchase plans, and inventory requirements.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding product availability, pricing, lead times, and shipment status.
• Support business development activities by maintaining strong relationships with international customers.
• Assist in resolving customer complaints and supply-related issues.
• Gather customer feedback and market intelligence to support business growth.

Reporting & Cost Management

• Monitor procurement spending and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Analyze supplier and customer performance metrics.
• Prepare procurement, inventory, and sales coordination reports.
• Track market trends affecting ingredient costs, supply availability, and customer demand.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

• Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Food Science, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, supply chain, export sales coordination, or related functions.
• Experience in the food, pet food, FMCG, ingredients, manufacturing, or trading industry is preferred.
• Familiarity with international sourcing and export operations is an advantage.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly capable Projects & Procurement Lead to drive end-to-end strategic planning, procurement, and execution of key logistics initiatives across SPX Express.

This role sits at the intersection of network planning, procurement, and operational strategy, responsible for ensuring SPX scales efficiently through robust capacity planning, strong vendor ecosystems, and data-driven decision-making.

You will lead strategic initiatives across network expansion, new logistics products, cost optimisation, and operational transformation, working closely with senior stakeholders across Operations, Finance, Product, and Regional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Planning & Project Leadership

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of strategic SPX projects

• Drive initiatives such as new service rollouts, operational improvements, and strategic growth initiatives

• Evaluate and execute new business opportunities including service expansion and new logistics solutions

• Develop project roadmaps, business cases, implementation plans, timelines, and performance tracking frameworks

• Manage project risks, dependencies, and cross-functional alignment to ensure successful delivery
  

2. Procurement & Vendor Management

• Oversee procurement activities for operational and strategic requirements across SPX Express

• Lead vendor sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, contracting, and performance management

• Build and manage supplier relationships to ensure cost efficiency, reliability, and service quality

• Drive procurement governance, compliance, and risk management standards

• Partner with Business Intelligence & Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning
  

3. Business Analysis & Problem Solving

• Analyse large and complex datasets to identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities

• Translate insights into actionable recommendations for leadership decision-making

• Conduct deep-dive analyses across key topics such as:

  Driver incentive effectiveness

  Driver performance and productivity

  Service quality improvement initiatives

  Cost efficiency and optimisation opportunities
  

4. Cost Optimisation & Operational Efficiency

• Drive initiatives to reduce operational cost while maintaining service quality

• Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency and vendor cost structures

• Support development of savings pipelines in partnership with Finance and Operations stakeholders

• Continuously improve processes to enhance productivity and execution efficiency
  

5. Stakeholder Management & Execution Leadership

• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across Operations, Commercial, Product, Finance, Legal, Government Relations, and Regional teams.

• Lead project working groups and ensure alignment across multiple stakeholders

• Drive structured decision-making in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

• Mentor junior team members and contribute to capability building within the function
  

Job Requirements 

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Economics, or a related field.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategy, project management, procurement, operations, consulting, or supply chain-related roles

• Strong experience in logistics, e-commerce, transportation, or high-growth technology environments

• Proven track record of leading cross-functional projects from ideation to execution

• Prior experience in procurement, vendor management, or commercial negotiations is highly preferred
