The Financial Controller is a key executive responsible for guiding the company’s financial strategy, overseeing financial operations, and supporting significant business growth. Principal Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):   

• Lead financial planning and commercial evaluation of regional expansion initiatives, including viability assessment, risk analysis, and market entry strategies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Minimum bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, accountancy, or possess an accountancy professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA or other equivalent) with at least 12 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in accounting or financial analysis to create and improve financial operational processes.
• Have a good understanding of Investment banking, Custody, Debt Capital Markets, and Flow/FX businesses and the processes around them.
• Have good communication skills– both written and verbal, with the ability to develop strong working relationships with senior business partners, resolving problems cross-functionally across departments and regions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting, Consolidation & Statutory Audit

•       Prepare consolidated financial statements across allnine entities in accordance with SFRS(I) and internal Group policies.

•       Own the monthly, half-yearly, and annual closingcycles, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-controlled reporting.

•       Lead the annual statutory audit process across all nineentities, serving as primary counterpart to the external auditors; drive theaudit to timely and clean completion, with the bulk of audit activityconcentrated in the six operating entities.

•       Design, maintain, and continuously strengthen theGroup's internal control framework.

•       Lead fraud risk assessment and prevention protocols;champion a culture of financial discipline and escalation.

•       Lead the annual internal audit cycle with Vin'sappointed internal auditors, including scoping, coordination, and remediationtracking, under the direction of the Audit Committee.

•       Ensure all internal and external audit findings aretracked and closed within agreed timelines.

•       Serve as an independent check within the executiveteam, with the judgement and willingness to escalate matters of concern.

4. Treasury, Cashflow & Banking

•       Manage Vin's treasury operations and day-to-dayliquidity position.

•       Own Group cashflow forecasting, working capitalmanagement, and debt covenant monitoring.

•       Lead banking relationships across the Group, includingregular engagement with Vin's principal banking partners.

•       Monitor existing credit and banking facilities; managerenewals, amendments, and compliance reporting.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a financial services tax professional to play a key role in the development of our financial services tax group. As a member of the management team, your role is to help our clients meet their local and overseas tax obligations, structure their affairs tax efficiently and apply for tax incentives where available. You will manage and grow a portfolio of corporate and individual financial services clients (such as banking, insurance, payments, wealth and asset management, family offices).

Your responsibilities will include the provision of effective tax advisory and compliance services (including GST) to our corporate clients in the financial services industry and foster strong relationships with relevant client contacts and provide independent advice. You are also expected to manage a team of staff, take on a proactive role in identifying new business opportunities and be responsible for the development and marketing of our service offerings.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate in corporate tax (including personal tax and GST) compliance and tax advisory engagements for clients in the banking, insurance, payments, wealth and asset management, and family office space.
• Implement fund management structures for client investments in the region
• Develop budgets, determine resource requirements, and direct / monitor engagements.
• Maintain continuous interaction with clients, manage expectations and ensure exceptional client service.
• Oversee the compliance management process and adapt to challenges in the process.
• Participate in managing a compliance group by assisting with forecasting future compliance work, delegating work effectively, coaching, training and resolving staffing issues.
• Share knowledge to develop professionally and enhance service delivery. Facilitate open communication and supervise staff.
• Participate in recruiting efforts when necessary.
• Contribute to a flexible, stable and team-orientated working culture.
• Assess and identify business development opportunities.
• Actively participate in business development efforts, including drawing up proposals.
• Build strong internal cross functional relationships within the Forvis Mazars network.
• Involve in any other adhoc projects and related tasks as and when required.

Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy/ Finance or relevant discipline, preferably with a membership with Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals (SCTP).
• At least 6 years of relevant business tax experience working with clients from the financial services industry such as banking, insurance, payments, wealth or asset management, or family offices.
• A strong understanding of Singapore’s tax policies for the wealth and asset management industry
• Strong leadership, project management and analytical skills.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Strong team player.

• A strong understanding of Singapore’s tax policies in relation to the wealth and asset management space
• Implementation of multi-country fund and fund management structures, for investments in the Asia-Pacific regionA good understanding of transfer pricing and indirect tax aspects, as well as legal and regulatory aspects relevant to wealth and asset management businesses in SingaporeTeam with tax professionals in other geographies and sub-service lines to provide comprehensive tax services

To qualify for the role you must have

• A recognized university degree in finance or accounting; a CPA or other professional accounting qualification
• At least 6 years of relevant business tax experience 
• A good understanding of business and tax technical issues, and the ability to transform these into value-added solutions for clients
• Excellent command of spoken and written English

      Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience working in an international or large public accounting firm or financial institution
• Relevant working experience gained from a wealth and asset management business
• Accreditation by SCTP
