Hassell, a leading global design practice, is looking for a Legal Counsel to join our team and provide expert legal support across the Hassell group. Working closely with our Company Secretary / General Counsel, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to broaden your experience across a diverse range of legal, commercial and project-related matters within a collaborative and supportive environment.
This opportunity will suit a lawyer with 4+ years’ post-admission experience, ideally gained at a well-regarded Australian law firm, and with exposure to clients in the construction, consultancy or built environment sectors.
About the role
As Senior Legal Counsel, you will support the business on a wide range of matters, with a strong focus on drafting, reviewing and negotiating key agreements, including:
- consultancy and sub-consultancy agreements
- confidentiality agreements and NDAs
- project contracts and service agreements
- deeds of novation
- certificates
- joint venture agreements
- premises lease agreements
- supplier agreements
You will also:
- Support and mentor a team member
- provide legal research and advice on a range of issues across Australian and international operations
- identify and report legal risks in a timely and practical way
- maintain records of material agreements
- advise on legal developments and their impact on the business
- support project teams with legal advice on claims, disputes and debt recovery
- assist with a variety of broader legal and commercial matters as required
