Job Description

• Oversee full spectrum of General Ledger (GL) functions, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial records and reporting
• Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal reviews, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Review balance sheet schedules, ensuring proper accruals, provisions, and cut-off are recorded
• Monitor GL postings, account classifications, and resolve discrepancies including suspense accounts and intercompany balances
• Manage fixed asset accounting and ensure proper tracking and reporting
• Ensure compliance with SFRS/IFRS standards and internal financial policies
• Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and support GST and corporate tax submissions
• Develop and improve financial processes, including closing checklists, reconciliation templates, and approval workflows
• Strengthen internal controls and ensure proper documentation and audit trails
• Supervise and guide finance team members, including GL, AP, and AR functions
• Allocate tasks, monitor deadlines, and support team development and training
• Assist in process improvement initiatives and other ad hoc finance projects

Job Requirements

• Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related discipline
• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in GL function
• Prior supervisory or team lead experience will be an advantage
• Familiar with ERP systems and financial reporting tools
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (SFRS/IFRS)

Job Purpose

Improve revenues by reducing bad debt exposure through the direct management of credit terms

Responsibilities

• Efficient Management of Drivers and Corporate Accounts’ Debts
• Ensure the Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of Credit Control are met
• Monitor and control drivers and corporate client accounts’ outstanding.
• Responsible in contacting customers and send reminders to ensure timely payments.
• Negotiate repayment plans with customers and set payment terms and conditions accordingly.
• Conduct aged balance review with Superior and follow up review actions.
• Report and alert any exceptional and delinquent customers and apply appropriate actions to minimize bad debt.
• Prepare daily operation report (s).
• Administer litigation/credit monitoring and screening process.
• Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Manage and review repossession and external collection agencies’ performance.
• Attend to drivers’ queries and appeals relating to Credit Control mat

Qualifications & Work Experience

• Diploma or other equivalent qualification (Diploma in Business related discipline will be added advantage)
• At least 2 years of experience in credit control  
• Prior experience in taxi and/or car rental industries is advantageous
• Candidate to possess a valid Class 3/3A Driving License will be an added advantage

• Excellent mathematical ability
