Assistant Finance Manager

Key Accountabilities

• In charge of all fund-raising activities by coordinating with relevant departments to collect funds, monitor disbursement of donations and keep proper accounting records.

Internal Controls, Policies and Standard Operational Procedures    

• Be a partner with Director of Finance to streamline internal processes and design new policies and procedures.

• Prepare the assigned new policies and procedures with professional quality of best industry practice and compliance with rules and regulations of the school and the governments.

Treasury Functions

• In charge of all treasury related functions of finance team. 
• Coordinate with banks, financial institutions and payment gateway service providers for all bank related matters.

• Coordinate and ensure all formalities for changes in authorized signatories are prepared properly according to the signing mandate approved by BOG.

Responsibilities of the role

· Provide financial leadership to key business partners in Regional Business Unit and Market Operations, across multi-functional teams.

· Lead financial analysis of initiative design, category plans, giving business recommendations to leaders.

· Lead in monthly regional financial forecast and support actual proofing.

· Lead in delivering high standards of stewardship in organisation and process workflow.

Qualifications

· At least 4 years of proven track record in managing financial forecast and budget management across a matrix organization with high level of agility.

· Past working experience in Japan market for the consumer goods industry is preferred.

· Japanese language fluency preferred.

· Detailed understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

· Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment.

· Maturity, integrity, and high level of discretion are required.

· Independent worker and analytical problem solver with an ability to conduct research, data analysis and resolve problems.

· Financial modelling expertise a plus.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and develop the finance team in Singapore; ensure effective communication with the finance team and other departments.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements in compliance with local regulations (CAS/C-GAAP) and international standards (IFRS)
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end closing processes and reporting to HQ in Singapore
• Analyse financial data to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making
• Prepare budgets and forecasts; monitor budget performance and conduct variance analysis
• Monitor cash flow; ensure efficient cash management and maintain banking relationships
• Review payments to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls
• Assist in quarterly group consolidation reports and schedules
• Coordinate and liaise with internal parties to support intercompany and operational activities
• Coordinate and liaise with external parties such as bankers, auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial, and government authorities as required
• Support and ensure compliance with corporate filing requirements, tax filing, monthly VAT, audits, and internal forms
• Assist in other duties and responsibilities assigned by management
• Report to the Group Finance Manager and Group CFO

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting & Finance or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in accounting and finance
• Good working knowledge of CAS, C-GAAP, and IFRS
• Well-versed in MS Office, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• A self-starter who can plan, organize, and take initiative to meet job objectives and deadlines independently
• Strong sense of numbers with business acumen
• Proactive with a can-do attitude, attention to detail, and a strong drive and passion for work
• Excellent team player with strong communication, people-management, and organizational skills
• Prior experience with listed companies or in audit is an advantage
