Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Compliance 

• Lead the preparation of timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with SFRS/IFRS. 

• Ensure compliance with all statutory reporting, tax filing, and regulatory requirements in Singapore and other jurisdictions as the group expands. 

• Coordinate with external auditors, tax agents, and corporate secretarial service providers. 

Management & Performance Reporting 

• Prepare consolidated management reports, including variance analysis, KPIs tracking, and commentary on financial performance against budget and forecast. 

• Develop and maintain financial dashboards to support operational decision-making by the CFO and other business leaders. 

Budgeting & Forecasting 

• Lead the annual budgeting process and quarterly rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads. 

• Monitor actual performance against budget, identify risks and opportunities, and propose corrective actions. 

Post-Acquisition Integration 

• Support the finance integration of acquired companies, particularly those in China, ensuring alignment of accounting policies, ERP systems, and internal controls. 

• Work closely with the local finance teams in China to harmonize reporting standards and streamline consolidation. 

Internal Controls & Process Improvement 

• Enhance and document internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity. 

• Drive continuous improvement in finance processes, leveraging technology to automate and scale. 

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management 

• Monitor cash flow, treasury activities, and working capital to optimize liquidity and support operational needs. 

• Assist in managing banking relationships and financing arrangements. 

Team Leadership & Development 

• Supervise and mentor a small finance team (e.g., accountants, analysts) in Singapore. 

• Foster a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous learning. 

Qualifications & Experience 

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent is strongly preferred. 

• Experience: 

• Minimum 8–10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial role. 

• Prior experience in manufacturing, MedTech, CDMO, or life sciences industries is highly desirable. 

• Experience working in a private equity-backed company or exposure to M&A/post-acquisition integration is a strong plus. 

• Familiarity with cross-border operations (especially China-Singapore) is advantageous. 

• Technical Skills: 

• Strong knowledge of SFRS/IFRS and Singapore tax regulations. 

• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel. 

• Soft Skills: 

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment. 

• High integrity and attention to detail. 

• Language: Fluency in English is required; Mandarin proficiency is a plus to facilitate communication with Chinese counterparts.

We seek an experienced Assistant Finance Manager to lead financial operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic growth within a regulated financial services environment.

Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end/year-end closing to ensure accurate financial records
• Prepare timely financial statements compliant with SFRS/IFRS accounting standards to support transparent reporting
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and financial forecasting to maintain financial stability and support business planning

Regulatory Compliance & Controls

• Ensure adherence to Monetary Authority of Singapore regulations and other relevant guidelines to maintain compliance
• Coordinate with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies to facilitate audits and regulatory reviews
• Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard financial integrity

Business Partnering & Strategy

• Provide financial analysis and insights to inform management decision-making and drive business performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement cost efficiencies and operational improvements
• Support strategic initiatives including business expansion and investment evaluation to promote growth

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor finance team members to build capabilities and enhance team performance
• Improve finance processes and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial operations

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA preferred
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in financial services
• Strong knowledge of Singapore financial regulations and reporting standards
• Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Other Information

• Ability to read and communicate in Chinese (Mandarin) to liaise with Chinese-speaking stakeholders, review financial documents from Chinese-speaking clients/partners, and support cross-border operations
