In this position, you will join our Buildings business, where you will play an integral part in a team of highly skilled specialists that ‘bring ideas to life’ for our clients across all types of projects. Winning Work & Client Relationships

• Responsible for the development and maintenance of the client plan and positive client relationships.
• Responsible for achievement of revenue and relevant utilization targets, developing of client proposals and tenders in conjunction with Business Development. This includes bid planning, facilitation, costing, writing, technical inputs, and signoff as required.

Project Delivery

• Accountable for the overall success of all aspects of projects assigned. This includes but is not limited to contract negotiation, project management, managing timeliness, quality, risk management, project financial performance, communication, and scope management of the projects, in line with the Aurecon methodology.
• Accountable for effective closeout of projects and debrief on all projects with the client, Client Relationship Executive/Managers and Project Leaders; responsible for providing technical expertise and overseeing all technical aspects of projects.

Financial management

• Manage project profitability and financial contribution for allocated projects; ensure financial performance of the allocated projects in accordance with client proposals, business plans and budgets.

People Management & Competency Development

• Responsible for the leadership, management, development, and motivation of team, ensuring the ongoing development of careers and competencies, services, and technologies within the Service Group.

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with PE registration of Professional Engineers Board in Singapore
• At least 15+ years’ relevant professional/technical experience and/or specialization, project management qualification and solid technical expertise
• High level engineering consulting and client management skills, experienced in the delivery of major and/or complex design projects
• Excellent communicator with well-developed commercial, analytical and technical skills, with a strong client focus and proven track record in business development
• Ability to manage projects from strategic and detailed planning, concept and detailed design, and to demonstrate leadership and team management skills
• Ability to lead a team of junior staff

Role Summary

The Chief Mechanical Engineer (Static Equipment) specializes in the engineering leadership of static and packaged equipment (including pressure vessels, air‑cooled heat exchangers, cryogenic heat exchangers, cold boxes, filters, tanks, and heaters) to support FEED, EPC, EPCIC, and commissioning phases of large‑scale Oil & Gas, LNG, and Petrochemical projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering Design & Verification: Prepare, review, and verify equipment data sheets, material requisitions, technical specifications, and complex mechanical calculations for static and vendor designed equipment packages, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers (air cooled and cryogenic), cold boxes, filters, tanks, electric heaters, and other LLIs. Ensure alignment with project design basis, client specifications, licensor requirements, and applicable international codes.

• Technical Management: Lead and govern the review of vendor engineering documents, fabrication drawings, design calculations, and manufacturing procedures to ensure full compliance with project requirements. Manage technical clarifications, deviations, and risk mitigation for critical and schedule driving equipment throughout the engineering and procurement phases.

• Interface Control: Act as the focal point for technical coordination across multi-disciplinary teams (Piping, Structural, Civil, Instrumentation, Electrical, Process), licensors, clients, shipyards, and global vendors. Ensure consistent and accurate data transfer, resolve complex technical interfaces, and maintain alignment across FEED, EPC, and construction activities.

• Lead Duties: Provide mentorship, technical guidance, and direction to lead engineers, senior engineers, and engineering teams. Manage engineering deliverables, manpower planning, progress tracking, and technical risk registers (including Lessons Learned). Participate in key technical decisions, design approvals, and escalation of critical engineering issues impacting safety, quality, cost, or schedule.

• Project Support: Support construction, fabrication follow up, site activities, and pre commissioning as required. Provide timely technical resolution for field related issues, vendor queries, and installation challenges to ensure smooth equipment delivery, installation, and commissioning.

Requirements:

Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Experience:

o Extensive professional experience in the design, engineering, and delivery of static and packaged equipment (pressure vessels, heat exchangers, cold boxes, filters, tanks, etc.).

o Proven leadership experience in FEED, EPC, EPCIC, or EPCC environments within Oil & Gas, LNG, or Petrochemical industries, including coordination with licensors, clients, shipyards, and global vendors.

Note: For Chief positions, a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience is typically required.

Technical Skills:

o Strong working knowledge of international engineering codes and standards such as ASME, API, and relevant client specifications.

o Proven capability in design basis development, vendor document review, technical risk management, and complex engineering problem solving.

o Excellent technical writing and engineering documentation skills.

Soft Skills:

o Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.

o Proven effectiveness in multinational, multi office, and multi partner project teams, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders toward common technical and schedule objectives.

Reporting to the General Manager, the incumbent will be responsible to: -

• Ensure smooth running of the facilities and engineering related operations of the hotel premises;

•  Invite tenders and quotations, negotiate, finalize and award contracts for maintenance and other such work;

• Lead a team of engineers, maintenance technicians, electricians, carpenters etc. to maximize the overall performance of the Maintenance department;

• Maintain the condition of the hotel by carrying out upgrading  project work and liaise with architects, internal designers and management;

• Supervise and provide relevant coaching and mentoring to team members;

• Formulate effective reporting and tracking systems for monitoring of system performance and capacity usage;

• Recommend the department's budget and capital expenditures and manage expenses within approved budget.      

• Assume overall responsibility for all aspects of engineering activities and for preparing and implementing preventive maintenance, cost reduction, work simplification, methods and techniques, improvement programs and other engineering projects.

• Drive environmentally responsible practices in energy conservation, recycling and environment friendly practices with the aim of reducing energy/water consumption and related costs.

• Be a key driver of safety and security practices within the hotel.
