Role Overview

The Technical Support Engineer provides post-sales technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization for industrial automation systems including PLC, SCADA, HMI, and IIoT platforms.

This role ensures high system reliability, minimal downtime, and data-driven performance improvement across customer operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

- Diagnose and resolve issues in PLC systems, SCADA/HMI systems, and industrial communication networks

- Provide remote and onsite support

- Perform root cause analysis using system logs, alarms, and trends

2. System Maintenance & Optimization

- Conduct preventive maintenance and system audits

- Optimize control logic including PID tuning, sequencing, and safety interlocks

- Improve system performance by reducing downtime and increasing efficiency

3. Customer Support & Training

- Act as technical point of contact

- Provide operator and maintenance training

- Develop troubleshooting guides and documentation

4. Implementation & Commissioning Support

- Assist in system commissioning

- Support PLC/SCADA integration

- Integrate with MES/ERP and IIoT platforms

5. Data Analysis & Reporting

- Analyze operational data for faults and bottlenecks

- Generate reports on downtime and OEE

- Support predictive maintenance initiatives

6. Continuous Improvement

- Recommend system improvements

- Contribute to knowledge base

Required Skills & Competencies

Core Automation Skills

- PLC programming and troubleshooting (Schneider, Siemens, etc.)

- SCADA/HMI configuration

About the Role

We’re seeking a detail-oriented Tender Engineer to lead contract preparations, including quantity take-offs from drawings, preparation of Bills of Quantities (BQ), and coordination of complete tender submissions. You will work closely with design, procurement, and project teams to ensure accurate, competitive, and compliant bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Review tender documents, drawings, and specifications; identify scope gaps, risks, and clarifications.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and measurements; prepare and finalize BQ using standard methods of measurement.
• Develop cost estimates, rate build-ups, and pricing models; request and analyze supplier/subcontractor quotations.
• Prepare technical and commercial submissions, compliance matrices, and method statements in coordination with stakeholders.
• Support value engineering, alternatives, and optimization proposals.
• Hand over awarded tenders to the project team with clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• At least 2 years’ experience in tendering/estimating for construction or engineering projects.
• Strong skills in quantity take-off and BQ preparation.
• Proficiency with estimating and measurement tools (e.g., AutoCAD/Revit for take-offs, Excel).
• Solid understanding of drawings, specifications, and standard methods of measurement.
• Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and time management.
