JOB MISSION

The Application Engineer Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management, training and development of Application Engineers who provide support for integration or technical projects.  Help manage the P/L (profit and loss) while ensuring all client and company business needs are met. 

DUTIES

·       Attend meetings with customers and Project Management team to analyze and determine customer system needs and provide recommendations.

·       Understand all customer commitments / contracts/ standards and ensure that all fulfilments are met to milestones and quality standards.

SECONDARY DUTIES

·       Troubleshoot system / security network related issues over the phone.

• Good knowledge of SQL and in-depth experience of databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server of Teradata and performance tuning at a database level
• Technical trouble shooting skills
• Previous experience of installing software, creating test environments
• Good knowledge of operating systems such as Linux, HPUX, Google Cloud Platform, Windows
• Understanding of Java and J2EE architectures/and/or Data Server
• At least 3 years of experience / knowledge working with JBoss, Weblogic, MQ, Apache Kafka and Spark
• Experience in AML/KYC ecosystem and technologies

This role will report to the Lead Technical Delivery Manager for the technical delivery of strategic projects.

Requirements

·    Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar domain.  Related professional/technical qualification will be advantageous although not mandatory 

·   More than 10 years’ delivery record in developing and delivering global / regional Cards solutions for a multi-national/regional company with annual budgetary responsibility

·   More than 5 years’ leadershipexperience in managing IT Cards delivery teams 

·   Strong technical/platform knowledge onCards domain (e.g. Cardlink, VisionPlus), mainframe (CICS/Cobol), 3D Secureapplication (e.g. 2C2P, Arcot), Cards API, Loyalty & rewards (e.g. OneEmpower app)

·    Hands-on experience in leading Cards Migration delivery (e.g. Cardlink, VisionPlus, Loyalty & Rewards app)

·   Experience in managing an application development team in implementing large-scale cards projects for banking or financial services

·   Strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate with highly technical management teams.

·    Proven track record of running a cross functional horizontal team, supporting multiple delivery teams

·    A strong awareness of both external and internal best practice perspectives, maintaining a balanced and fresh viewpoint.

·   Highly effective communicating with senior technical stakeholders and equally proficient communicating with business stakeholders

·   Good problem-solving, analytical, synthesis, system thinking and solutioning skills
