The Marketplace team works with Mobility teams across Southeast Asia to manage driver supply, consumer pricing, and marketplace strategy. You'll dig into data, surface insights, and build solutions that move the needle on business outcomes. The team owns marketplace products and keeps the marketplace healthy and performing well. You'll join a regional setup with primary focus in Malaysia — you'll work with local leadership while stay connected to the broader regional agenda.

Get to Know the Role

You'll own the health and strategic direction of the Malaysia Mobility Marketplace — combining data-driven thinking with business strategy to drive real impact on the ground.

You'll be the go-to person for the Malaysia mobility marketplace, leading the local team while also representing Malaysia in regional conversations.

You will report to our Head of Mobility Marketplace, and you will be based onsite at our Grab Malaysia office.

Key ownership areas include:

• Defining and driving the country strategy for driver-partner supply health, productivity, quality, and retention
• Owning consumer pricing frameworks to grow the business sustainably and profitably
• Leading country-level strategic projects focused on service quality and platform reliability
• Representing the Malaysia mobility marketplace team in both local and regional discussions
• Developing and mentoring the rest of the Malaysia mobility marketplace team

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• Define and own the strategic vision for consumer pricing and marketplace mechanics for GrabCar in Malaysia, keeping it aligned with growth targets and profitability goals
• Design and iterate on driver-partner engagement models and incentive structures to drive healthy acquisition, retention, and cost efficiency
• Lead initiatives to improve platform reliability and ride experience, working with cross-functional teams to make things better for both passengers and drivers
• Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams on mobility-related features and algorithms (e.g., dynamic pricing, ride matching, surge) to improve marketplace performance
• Be a thought partner to regional Product teams, helping shape the product roadmap based on what the Malaysia market actually needs
• Monitor marketplace metrics, investigate anomalies, and translate data into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders
• Run end-to-end experiments — from design and rollout to analysis — to test and validate new ideas
• Manage, develop, and mentor your team, helping them grow both analytically and strategically

A DAY IN A LIFE

As a start up, you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. That said, the bulk of your working hours should involve you having to:

Regional Accounts Receivable Leadership

• Lead and manage the end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) process across multiple countries, ensuring timely and accurate billing, cash application, collections and account reconciliations.
• Develop and implement regional AR strategies, policies and procedures to improve cash collection performance and reduce overdue receivables.
• Monitor customer credit exposure, establish credit control frameworks and support commercial teams in customer onboarding and credit assessments.
• Drive collection effectiveness through proactive aging management, escalation protocols and dispute resolution processes.
• Partner with business leaders to identify and mitigate collection risks, bad debt exposure and customer payment issues.
• Review and approve provisions for doubtful debts and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and Group policies.
• Monitor AR ageing, collection effectiveness, Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), overdue balances and cash conversion metrics across all markets.
• Collaborate with Treasury and FP&A teams to support regional cash flow forecasting and working capital optimization initiatives.

Intercompany Management

• Own the end-to-end intercompany process across the region, including intercompany billing, recharge mechanisms, settlements, reconciliations and balance confirmations.
• Ensure intercompany transactions are accurately recorded, supported and aligned with Group accounting policies and transfer pricing requirements.
• Drive timely resolution of intercompany mismatches and aged balances across multiple legal entities and jurisdictions.
• Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual intercompany closing activities to support accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Lead regional intercompany netting and settlement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce funding requirements.
• Partner with Tax, Treasury and Finance teams to ensure compliance with transfer pricing policies and cross-border transaction requirements.

Governance, Controls and Compliance

• Establish and maintain a robust control environment for Accounts Receivable and Intercompany processes across the region.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, indirect tax regulations (GST, VAT, Sales Tax and other relevant taxes), Group policies and accounting standards.
• Support internal and external audits by ensuring completeness of documentation and audit readiness across all jurisdictions.
• Monitor adherence to delegated authority limits, credit policies and financial control requirements.

Process Excellence and Transformation

• Drive standardization and harmonization of AR and Intercompany processes across Southeast Asia, India, China and Hong Kong.
• Identify automation opportunities and lead system enhancement initiatives to improve efficiency, accuracy and scalability.
• Partner with COE and tech teams to optimize system workflows and reporting capabilities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing manual effort, improving controls and enhancing customer and stakeholder experience.

Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary regional point of contact for Accounts Receivable and Intercompany matters.
• Build strong partnerships with Country Finance, Commercial, Operations, Treasury, Tax, FP&A.
• Work closely with senior business leaders to support commercial growth while maintaining disciplined credit and collection practices.
• Facilitate regular regional governance meetings to review performance, risks, escalations and improvement opportunities.

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach and develop a high-performing regional Accounts Receivable and Intercompany team, whether centralized or distributed across multiple countries.
• Establish clear performance expectations, succession plans and development pathways for team members.
• Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, continuous improvement and operational excellence.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline. Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent) is preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant finance experience, including substantial experience in Accounts Receivable, Credit Control, Order-to-Cash and/or Intercompany Accounting within a multinational environment.
• Proven experience managing end-to-end Accounts Receivable and Intercompany operations across multiple countries, preferably within Southeast Asia, India, China and Hong Kong.
• Strong knowledge of AR processes, credit management, collections, working capital management, intercompany accounting, financial controls and compliance requirements.
• Experience working with ERP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle or equivalent) and driving process standardization, automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing regional or geographically dispersed teams and influencing cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex issues across diverse markets and cultures.
• Results-oriented with a proven track record of improving cash collections, reducing aged receivables, resolving intercompany imbalances and strengthening operational controls.

Managing a team of three direct reports (covering People Partnering, Industrial/Employee Relations, and People Experience), your mandate is to take complete ownership of day-to-day operational execution, policy governance, and budget tracking. As a gatekeeper, you will operate with a high degree of independent authority bynfiltering, resolving, and finalizing local people matters autonomously, ensuring that only macro-level strategic or high-risk financial decisions are escalated to the M3 level.

• First Line of Authority: Act as the primary filter and operational decision-maker for the Malaysia SSC. You are expected to own and resolve 80% of localized escalations independently, removing day-to-day bottlenecks from the M3 Head of People.

• Operational Demarcation: Independently manage and approve standard HR interventions, local policy applications, performance mitigations, and team allocations without requiring constant oversight.

• Escalation Governance: Discern when to finalize a case and when to escalate, ensuring that matters brought to the M3 level are strictly high-liability risks, entity-wide structural shifts, or macro budget exceptions.

• Lead and Develop the Frontline: Directly manage, mentor, and govern a team of 3 specialists (IC3 People Partner, IC2 IR/ER Specialist, and a People Experience specialist), ensuring seamless cross-functional coverage and building an internal talent pipeline.

• Risk & Dependency Mitigation: Eliminate key-person dependency risks within the local team by establishing robust standard operating procedures (SOPs) and clear succession tracking.

• Policy Custodian: Manage the localized implementation, enforcement, and governance of all global and local HR policies across the 900-headcount employee lifecycle.

• Budget Oversight: Act as the frontline governor for the local HR budget. Track expenditures, manage run-rate costs, and ensure strict fiscal discipline before routing high-value financial requests to the M3 level for final sign-off.

• Process Excellence: Continuously audit and optimize HR service delivery workflows within the SSC to drive operational efficiency.

• Compliance Ownership: Take ultimate tactical ownership of all local IR/ER topics, ensuring flawless compliance with the Malaysian Employment Act, statutory regulations, and Industrial Court precedents.

• Conflict & Grievance Resolution: Autonomously oversee disciplinary frameworks, Domestic Inquiries (DIs), Mutual Separation Agreements (MSAs), and high-risk performance management paths.

• Leadership Coaching: Partner with and coach C-2 and C-3 business leaders on organizational design, talent reviews, succession planning, and performance calibration.

• Change Management: Drive local execution and communication strategies during business unit reorganizations, ensuring seamless business adoption with minimal disruption.
