Job Scope:

• Assist in maintaining 2 of the science labs
• Responsible for setup, clean up and general maintenace of science lab/classroom
• In charge of department stock taking and inventory management.
• Preparing apparutus and assist the science teacher in the science lab
• Assist in student management/ classroom management if required

Requirements:

• At least ‘N/O' levels qualification
• Relevant work experience as a teacher's aide/science lab assistant in school setting
• Familiar with MS Office (Powerpoint, Excel etc)
• Possesses good communication skills to liaise with teachers, students, and other stakeholders

Working Hours: Mon to Fri: 7am to 4pm (45 mins unpaid lunch break)

Contract Period: 5 months

Salary: $2100-$2170/month

Job Description

1) Supporting school teachers in the following:

• Prepare and set up apparatus and resources for Science practical lessons.

• Be present during practical lessons and support teacher during lab demonstration or group work. Facilitate activities in the small groups.

• Monitor resources and make appropriate recommendations for lessons. Try out resources and share with the teachers or Science Subject Representatives on the usage.

• Record items that need to be purchased during preparation so that budget can be tapped on and used effectively.

• Carry out stock take of apparatus/materials and disposal of redundant items. Inform teacher-in-charge for replenishment of needed apparatus/materials.

• Spruce up the look and feel of Science rooms Eg: display of charts and students work

• Support the Math and Science Departments in after school lessons for students during Olympiad and E2K programme.

• Preparation of teaching and learning resources e.g: cutting of resources, lamination, signage for Science garden, sorting of butterfly kits( by class), seed kits (by class)

• Accompany students for learning journey

• School Garden Maintenance eg: watering of plants, composting, hydroponics

• Cleaning and Maintenance of Science Rooms

2) To support any work requirements beyond the stipulated work hours where necessary. Such requirements will be communicated and agreed upon beforehand with personnel and charged against the total contracted hours.

3) To perform any other duties as and when assigned by the school.
