Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Data Analyst with strong experience in Life & Annuity actuarial functions. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in financial data analytics, asset modeling, and programming (Python), along with a solid understanding of insurance and investment principles. This role will support actuarial modeling, financial reporting, and strategic decision-making through data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze large and complex financial datasets related to life and annuity products to support actuarial valuations and reporting.

• Develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and analytical models using Python.

• Perform asset modeling and support Asset-Liability Management (ALM) processes.

• Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and investment teams to deliver actionable insights.

• Support financial forecasting, valuation, and risk analysis for insurance portfolios.

• Automate reporting processes and improve efficiency in data handling and analysis.

• Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

• Assist in the development and validation of actuarial and financial models.

• Interpret and communicate analytical results to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

• 7+ years of experience in financial data analytics, preferably within life insurance or annuity domains.

• Strong hands-on expertise in Python (Pandas, NumPy, data visualization libraries).

• Proven experience in financial data analysis and reporting.

• Experience with asset modeling and/or Asset-Liability Management (ALM).

• Solid understanding of actuarial concepts in life and annuity products.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of insurance investment strategies and financial instruments.

• Experience working with actuarial modeling tools (e.g., Prophet, AXIS, MG-ALFA, or similar).

• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (e.g., IFRS 17, Solvency II, US GAAP).

• Strong SQL and database management skills.

• Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).

• Actuarial exams progress or certification (preferred but not mandatory).

SCOPE OVERVIEW

• Assist in ORSA stress test and all capital related reporting requirement which involve asset template.
• Maintain and enhance asset capital projection models to ensure accuracy and efficiency of the asset projection models.
• Participate in capital-related projects such as investment initiatives, strategic asset allocations, and reinsurance initiatives.
• Work closely with group office, consultants, auditors, and regulators to ensure compliance with capital-related group guidelines and statutory regulations.
• Support any department initiatives as required.

REQUIREMENTS

• Preferably 4-6 years of actuarial experience, with asset valuation background will be an advantage.
• Proficiency in statistical and actuarial software (e.g., Excel and SQL).
• Prior Singapore RBC2 experience will be an advantage.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Supervises an engineering group with specific responsibility for mechanical systems and equipment design function, staffing, technical mentoring as required within the engineering group, staff professional and personal development, and budget adherence.  Also, technically lead and/or execute engineering projects

• Ensures customer satisfaction via on time delivery of product releases in accordance with predetermined requirements and prompt resolution of complex issues of difficult scope for range of products

• Ensures the integration of engineering resources with cross-functional teams to meet objectives and product goals of difficult scope

• Interfaces with internal and external customers regarding complex mechanical issues for range of products

• Ensures that all projects and programs assigned are completed in accordance with predetermined requirements, with specific attention to product/process specifications, project/program costs, resource utilization, and timeless completion

• Generate and define product specifications and coordinate/execute the engineering development of difficult scope

• Effectively assigns work to subordinate staff, providing for professional development in addition to maximum productivity for the area

• Ensures that all phases of project, program, and/or process development are documented and that information required in other functional areas is reported, disseminated, or transferred, as appropriate.  Ensures compliance with Company policies regarding safety, Engineering/Lab notebooks, patents, and confidentiality and safety

Minimum Qualifications: 

• PhD/ Master/ Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

• More than 7 years of relevant experiences in semiconductor equipment design or troubleshooting experiences with at least 3 years of leadership experiences

• Subject-matter expertise with CAD software, thermodynamics, sheet metal design, material selection, manufacturing methods, GD&T, flow analysis and/or Design for Excellence principles 

• Proficient in simulation and analysis methods (FEA, thermal analysis and tolerance analysis)

• Strong in the following fields: Thermal, Compressible flow, Engineering Design, Machining & manufacturing processes

• Ability to craft clear engineering documentation

• Ability to form effective cross-functional relationships and to communicate product design/mechanical requirements clearly to non-experts
