Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end management of electronictrading, execution management, and client connectivity platforms acrossproduction, UAT, and disaster recovery environments. Ensure the stability,availability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical trading systemssupporting institutional clients, brokers, exchanges, and liquidity providers.
- Manage and support FIX-based tradingconnectivity, including FIX 4.2, FIX 4.4, FIXT 1.1, and related tradingworkflows.
- Oversee the health and optimization of FIXengines, ensuring reliable session management, low-latency message processing,sequence integrity, and connectivity monitoring.
- Support and manage modern messaging and marketconnectivity technologies, including APIs, JSON-based interfaces, SBE (SimpleBinary Encoding), and FAST market data protocols.
- Lead production support activities, incidentmanagement, escalation handling, and service restoration efforts for criticaltrading platforms.
- Serve as Incident Manager for high-priorityproduction incidents, coordinating engineering, infrastructure, and businessstakeholders to minimize operational impact.
- Conduct root cause analyses (RCA) and drive theimplementation of long-term corrective and preventive actions to improveplatform reliability.
- Design and implement automation initiatives tostreamline operational processes, reduce manual effort, and improve servicedelivery efficiency.
- Build and enhance monitoring, alerting, andobservability capabilities using enterprise monitoring and telemetry platforms.
- Monitor key platform performance indicators,including latency, throughput, order rejection rates, execution quality, systemutilization, and service availability.
- Collaborate closely with software engineeringteams to improve application reliability, scalability, resilience, andoperational readiness.
- Support the onboarding and integration ofinstitutional clients, brokers, exchanges, and liquidity providers, includingconnectivity certification and production rollout activities.
- Serve as the primary technical escalation pointfor issues impacting internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Partner with product managers, businessstakeholders, and trading teams to translate business requirements intotechnical solutions and platform enhancements.
- Ensure compliance with IT governance,cybersecurity, risk management, audit, and change management policies.
- Maintain technical documentation, supportprocedures, operational runbooks, and knowledge repositories.
- Lead, mentor, and develop application supportengineers and junior technical team members while fostering a culture ofoperational excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science,Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electronictrading systems, application support, production engineering, or financialtechnology environments.
- Proven experience supporting mission-criticaltrading applications within investment banks, broker-dealers, exchanges,fintech firms, or trading technology vendors.
- Strong expertise in FIX Protocol (FIX 4.2, FIX4.4, and FIXT 1.1), including session management, sequence handling,heartbeats, recovery processes, and message troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of front-office tradingworkflows and FIX order lifecycle management, including order creation,amendment, cancellation, execution reporting, trade status management, andexception handling across OMS, EMS, broker, and exchange connectivityplatforms.
- Strong understanding of capital markets andmulti-asset trading environments, including equities, futures, derivatives,fixed income, and foreign exchange products.
- Solid understanding of market structure,liquidity, execution quality, and best execution principles.
- Demonstrated experience leading productionsupport teams and managing complex technical incidents in high-availabilityenvironments.
- Strong communication and stakeholder managementskills, with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and businessaudiences.
- Experience driving operational excellence,automation, platform modernization, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with OMS and EMS platforms andend-to-end order lifecycle management.
- Experience supporting Drop Copy sessions, tradereporting workflows, and post-trade processing.
- Understanding of algorithmic trading workflows,custom FIX tags, smart order routing, and execution strategies.
- Knowledge of pre-trade risk controls, includingcredit limits, fat-finger checks, and price validation controls.
- Strong Linux/Unix administration andtroubleshooting skills.
- Experience diagnosing application,infrastructure, and network issues using tools such as tcpdump, Wireshark, andlog analysis platforms.
- Familiarity with APIs, messaging middleware,distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with monitoring and observabilityplatforms such as Splunk, Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, Dynatrace,or OpenTelemetry.
- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation,issue investigation, and troubleshooting.
- Experience with scripting or automation usingPython, Bash, Shell, or similar technologies.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices, releaseautomation, and modern software delivery methodologies.
- Familiarity with cloud and hybrid infrastructureenvironments is advantageous.
- Exposure to container technologies such asDocker and Kubernetes is advantageous.
