Required Experience & Skills
Experience
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in database administration, platform administration, production support, or operations for Neo4j and/or similar database platforms
Hands-on experience with the following (or similar):
Neo4j Platform: Neo4j Enterprise Edition (database administration, RBAC, cluster management,neo4j-admin CLI)
Query Language: Cypher (basic proficiency for operational queries, troubleshooting, user/role management)
Plugins & Libraries: APOC library, Graph Data Science (GDS) library (installation, version management)
Monitoring & Logging: Splunk (log forwarding configuration, platform monitoring, alerting), Neo4j metrics endpoints
Infrastructure: Linux server administration (required), JVM tuning, file system and storage management
Authentication: Native Neo4j authentication, LDAP / Active Directory integration, TLS/SSL certificate management
Experience working in on-premises and/or air-gapped environments is required
Technical & Operational Skills
• Strong understanding of Neo4j database administration, including user/role management, RBAC configuration,
database creation, and cluster operations
• Basic proficiency in Cypher query language for operational tasks (user management, access verification, health checks, basic troubleshooting)
• Experience with neo4j-admin CLI utilities for backup/restore, database management, and diagnostics
• Proficiency in Linux server administration (service management, log analysis, file permissions, JVM configuration, basic scripting)
• Experience with Splunk configuration for log forwarding, monitoring, and alerting
• Familiarity with ITSM processes (incident, service request, change management)
• Experience with patching, upgrades, and controlled changes in production database environments
• Ability to follow runbooks, SOPs, and operational checklists
• Basic troubleshooting skills across Neo4j services, cluster replication, JVM performance, and connectivity layers.
