We are seeking an IT Security Engineer to support mission-critical Defence sector systems.

You will work closely with Solution Architects, Project Managers, and Technical Leads to ensure strong security governance, compliance, and operational resilience across secure environments.

This role is ideal for someone hands-on in security operations, audits, compliance, and incident response within regulated environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct security reviews, vulnerability assessments, and compliance audits
• Support security governance operations and policy enforcement
• Monitor security alerts and investigate potential incidents
• Maintain compliance documentation and audit artefacts
• Perform log analysis, incident triage, and escalation
• Support risk assessments and remediation tracking
• Stay updated on emerging cyber threats and recommend mitigation strategies
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to enforce security bestpractices

Candidate Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related discipline
• 2–5+ years of experience in cybersecurity, security operations, or governance roles
• Experience in security monitoring, audit, and compliance environments
• Knowledge of common security frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls)
• Understanding of SIEM tools, vulnerability scanning tools, or endpoint security platforms
• Experience investigating and responding to security incidents
• Strong documentation and reporting skills
• Experience in Government / Defence IT environments

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and manage AWS cloud security controls and best practices.

• Configure and maintain AWS security services such as IAM, GuardDuty, Security Hub, WAF, Shield, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.

• Monitor cloud environments for security threats, vulnerabilities, and suspicious activities.

• Perform security assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response.

• Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to integrate security into cloud deployments.

• Ensure compliance with security policies and industry standards (e.g., ISO27001, CIS benchmarks).

Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in IT Security / Cloud Security roles.

• Hands-on experience with AWS cloud platforms and security tools.

• Good understanding of network security, identity access management, and cloud architecture.

• Experience with security monitoring, vulnerability management, and incident response.

Preferred

• AWS Certified Security – Specialty or AWS Solutions Architect certification.

• Experience with DevSecOps, Terraform, or CloudFormation.

• Familiarity with SIEM or security monitoring tools.
