Reports To: Fleet Manager, Ship Management Division (Tanker/LPG/Ethane)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical operations of assigned vessels (Tanker/LPG/Ethane). The role ensures safe, efficient, and cost-effective management, while maintaining compliance with all class, flag state, and international maritime regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing ship maintenance plans for assigned vessels.
- Monitor and update maintenance activities through the Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and the company’s Safety Management System (SMS).
- Oversee vessel surveys, certifications, and ensure compliance with statutory and class requirements.
- Lead investigations into incidents/accidents, conduct root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Possess strong crisis management skills to effectively handle marine incidents and accidents.
- Plan, prepare, and oversee inspections and dry dockings; provide regular detailed reports.
- Maintain up-to-date vessel plans, drawings, and manuals.
- Coordinate procurement and timely delivery of spares, stores, lubricants, and paints etc.
- Prepare and manage vessel operating budgets, ensuring effective cost control.
- Ensure environmental and safety standards are met and provide maintenance advice to onboard personnel.
- Ensure compliance with all national and international regulations, flag state requirements, and classification society rules.
- Support the delivery and familiarization of new vessels, including sea trials and maiden voyages.
- Conduct regular ship visits and produce detailed reports.
- Coordinate and manage insurance repairs, including cost estimations and on-site attendance.
- Evaluate and support onboard crew performance and development.
- Facilitate effective communication between ship and shore.
- Monitor daily vessel performance and respond timely to technical issues.
- Maintain strong professional relationships with vessel owners and promptly address their technical concerns.
Education & Certifications
- Degree or equivalent in Marine Engineering.
- Certificate of Competency (COC) as Marine Engineer Officer Class 1 (Motorship) or equivalent.
Experience
- Experience as Technical Superintendent managing LPG/Ethane gas carriers with MAN ME engines.
- At least 2 years’ experience as Chief Engineer on board relevant vessels.
- Hands-on experience with ME-C electronic engines and gas (LPG/Ethane) carriers.
- Familiarity with dual-fuel engines and Ethane gas carriers is highly preferred.
- Drydocking experience is an advantage.
- In-depth knowledge of ISM Code, classification societies, and international maritime regulations.

- Possess leadership and team management capabilities.
- Excellent multitasking, planning and coordination skills.
