Job Description

OVERVIEW 

CNBC International is seeking a sharp and ambitious Tech Reporter to cover the fast-moving world of technology across APAC region. Based in Singapore, you will cover some of the biggest tech companies out of APAC, while also working closely with the West Coast teams on coverage of big tech companies. In this role, you will cover breaking news, authoritative analysis, and aim to land exclusive scoops from the biggest players in the region. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Write and curate CNBC International’s Beyond the Valley newsletter, providing sharp insights and analysis on the most important developments in global and regional tech.  

• Report on major themes including AI, big tech, startups, fintech, venture capital, and regulation across Europe and the Middle East.  

• Cultivate and maintain strong sources among founders, executives, investors, and policymakers with a view to deliver scoops, original, agenda-setting journalism.  

• Stay on top of fast-moving developments, ensuring CNBC is first and best with accurate, impactful coverage.  

• Contribute smart explainers, interviews, and features that bring clarity to complex tech stories and drive subscriber value.  

• Work with TV and social teams to amplify tech coverage across platforms, strengthening CNBC’s multi-platform strategy.  

• Use analytics and audience insights to shape coverage that resonates with CNBC’s global audience and supports subscription growth. 

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS 

• Proven ability to break news and develop sources within the tech sector.  

• Excellent writing skills, with the ability to make complex technology and business issues accessible and engaging.  

• Familiarity with APAC's tech ecosystem, including major companies, startups, and regulators.  

• Strong understanding of how the big players such as Meta, OpenAI etc. in the tech space and their growing influence on the world.  

• Strong news judgment, with an eye for stories that resonate with global business and investor audiences.  

• Understanding of digital publishing, newsletters, and social media best practices.  

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom and work collaboratively across teams and time zones. 

DESIRED ATTRIBUTES   

While not essential for this role, candidates with experience or proficiency in the following attributes tend to excel in this position.  

• 1-3 years of experience reporting on business or technology. 

• Enthusiasm for multiplatform work - with TV and Audience teams.  

• Passionate about exploring other writing formats including chart-driven stories and deep-dive, in-depth pieces, using graphics and data visualizations

United Women Singapore Limited (UWS) is a local non-profit organisation with IPC status that advances women’s empowerment and gender equality and builds a pipeline of women leaders and influencers in Singapore. The organisation has been operating for over 28 years and works towards narrowing the gender equality gap through education and raising awareness and advocacy on issues such as women’s empowerment and anti-violence, with the support of key stakeholders including corporate partners, government agencies, academia, the diplomatic community, other non-profit and community groups and the wider community.

We are seeking four dynamic and proactive Interns (1 per function) to support key areas of the organisation: Fundraising, Programme Support, Finance & Administration, and Communications. This internship offers hands-on exposure within a purpose-driven environment, ideal for students from local Polytechnics and Universities who are keen to contribute to meaningful social impact.

Each Intern will be assigned to a specific function while having opportunities to collaborate across teams on organisational initiatives.
1. Fundraising Intern (1 Position)

• Support the development and implementation of diverse fundraising strategies across multiple channels
• Assist in planning and execution of flagship events, donor campaigns, and community initiatives
• Conduct research on potential donors, grant opportunities, and CSR partnerships
• Support outreach efforts, including corporate engagement and donor communications
• Assist in digital fundraising efforts (e.g., social media campaigns, Giving.sg campaigns)

2. Programme Support Intern (1 Position)

• Assist in coordinating and delivering programmes, workshops, and community activities
• Support engagement with beneficiaries, volunteers, and partners
• Help track programme outcomes and prepare reports
• Provide logistical and administrative support for programme implementation

3. Finance & Administration Intern (1 Position)

• Assist with finance processes such as claims tracking, invoice processing, and data entry
• Support administrative functions including documentation, scheduling, and coordination
• Help maintain records in line with audit and compliance requirements
• Provide operational support for procurement and office management

4. Communications Intern (1 Position)

• Support content creation for social media, newsletters, and outreach materials
• Assist in managing digital platforms (e.g., website updates, email campaigns)
• Contribute to storytelling efforts, including impact stories and campaigns
• Track engagement metrics and support communications reporting

Requirements

• Recent graduate from a Polytechnic or University in Singapore
• Preferred fields: Business, Communications, Social Sciences, Accountancy, or related disciplines
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and in teams
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office / Google Workspace; social media platforms, Canva or similar tools are a bonus
• Interest in the social service / non-profit sector
• Support on-ground events and donor/volunteer activities
• Able to commit to a 6 month internship, preferably full-time.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support campaign managers in executing multiple live brand campaigns (FMCG, health, parenting)
• Manage and maintain campaign data, including lead validation, cleaning, tagging, and segmentation using Excel/Google Sheets
• Update campaign trackers and monitor pacing to ensure KPIs and deliverables stay on track
• Prepare performance summaries and reports for internal teams and client updates
• Coordinate with internal teams (CRM, Paid Ads, Community, Designers) and external vendors to support campaign execution
• Assist with campaign operations and logistics, including preparing, packing, and delivering client products to/from distribution points when required

• University student or recent graduate in Business, Marketing, Data Analytics, or related fields
• Highly proficient in Excel/Google Sheets; confident with formulas such as VLOOKUP, COUNTIFS, TEXT, etc.
• Basic understanding or interest in digital marketing or lead generation campaigns
• Comfortable working with campaign dashboards, tracking sheets, and multiple stakeholders
• Strong task management skills, attention to detail and data accuracy
• Fast learner, proactive communicator, and comfortable working with complex spreadsheets
• Bonus: Familiarity with CRM tools, campaign funnels, or Meta Ads reporting
