Responsibilities:

The Underwater Sonar Field Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and lifecycle support of underwater sonar and acoustic sensor systems deployed at sites. The role requires strong hands-on technical capability in sonar, underwater acoustics, electronics, and system integration, with the ability to operate independently in challenging field environments. The engineer will work closely with customers, shipyard teams, and internal engineering groups to ensure safe, reliable, and optimal sonar  system performance.

• Install, configure, commission, and test underwater sonar systems, including transducers, arrays, processing units, interfaces, and associated power and UW network infrastructure within the system is operational and serviceable at sites. 
• Coordination with Authority to perform routine, corrective, and preventive maintenance on sonar and underwater acoustic systems to ensure operational availability and system reliability

• Support network architecture planning and scalability for future business needs

• Manage network upgrades, patches, and firmware updates

• Work with vendors and service providers to resolve issues and optimize services

• Maintain documentation including network diagrams, configurations, and SOPs

• Ensure compliance with security policies, standards, and regulatory requirements

• Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning for network systems

• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support when required

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field

• Minimum 3 years of experience in network engineering, infrastructure, or related roles

• Relevant industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA/JNCIS, or equivalent are preferred

• Strong understanding of core networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and routing protocols such as OSPF and BGP

• Hands-on experience with enterprise network devices and technologies from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper Networks, Fortinet, and Aruba Networks

• Proven experience in configuring and managing firewalls, VPNs, and implementing network security best practices

• Familiarity with network monitoring and performance tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG Network Monitor, Nagios, and Zabbix

• Experience with wireless networking technologies (WLAN, Wi-Fi standards) and troubleshooting

• Exposure to cloud networking concepts on platforms such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform

• Basic scripting or automation skills (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or Ansible will be an advantage

• Experience with modern networking technologies such as SD-WAN, network virtualization, and Zero Trust architecture is a plus

• Knowledge of data center networking, high availability design, and system resilience

Project Engineer (Electrical & Electronics)

Working Days:Mon- Fri 9am-6pm, Saturday 9am-1pm

Location: Nearest Kovan MRT

Salary: $2800 to 3500

Job Scope:

• Read and draw circuit diagrams
• Wiring, soldering, and basic assembly work
• Work with sensors, motors, and solenoid valves
• Support PLC and basic PC programming (e.g. C#)
• Assist in testing, troubleshooting, and project implementation
• Willing to work in a cleanroom environment

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Electrical & Electronics or related field
• Basic knowledge of electronics and automation systems
• Training Provided
