We are seeking a Mainframe Backup Operations Engineer to support enterprise backup, recovery, and tape management operations within a large-scale mainframe environment. The role is responsible for ensuring the integrity, availability, and recoverability of business-critical data through effective backup administration and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and administer daily mainframe backup operations, ensuring successful completion of scheduled backup and recovery activities.

• Manage tape inventory and lifecycle processes using CA 1 Tape Management System, including tape allocation, retention, and archival controls.

• Execute backup and restore procedures using ADRDSSU and related mainframe utilities.

• Investigate backup job failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.

• Review backup reports, logs, and operational metrics to ensure compliance with service level requirements.

• Support disaster recovery testing and validation activities to verify backup recoverability and system resilience.

• Maintain backup and recovery documentation, operational procedures, and technical runbooks.

Requirements
