Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced DevSecOps Engineer to support the security, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of enterprise-grade Generative AI platforms and cloud-native applications.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing cloud infrastructure, deployment pipelines, platform security, system reliability, and operational processes while supporting the continued evolution of modern cloud and container platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure and Platform Engineering
• Design, implement, manage, and optimise cloud infrastructure environments supporting enterprise applications and AI workloads.
• Maintain and enhance containerised workloads running on AWS ECS and support the planning, deployment, and administration of Kubernetes environments using AWS EKS or equivalent technologies.
• Support infrastructure scalability, availability, performance, and operational efficiency.
AWS Platform Administration
• Provision, configure, and manage AWS services supporting application platforms, including databases, search services, AI services, networking, and load balancing components.
• Administer cloud infrastructure services including Amazon RDS, OpenSearch, Bedrock, ELB, and related platform services.
• Monitor cloud resource utilisation and implement optimisation initiatives where appropriate.
Security, Access Control and Network Management
• Implement and maintain security controls across cloud and application environments.
• Manage identity and access management (IAM), role-based access controls (RBAC), and network security policies.
• Support secure network architectures and controlled-access environments in accordance with organisational security requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance with enterprise security standards and governance frameworks.
System Reliability and Disaster Recovery
• Establish and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities across infrastructure and platform environments.
• Support incident response, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and service recovery activities.
• Design, implement, and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Support platform resilience, business continuity, and operational readiness initiatives.
CI/CD and Automation
• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting secure software delivery practices.
• Integrate security testing, vulnerability scanning, and compliance checks within deployment pipelines.
• Support automation initiatives through Infrastructure as Code (IaC), configuration management, and deployment automation technologies.
Compliance and Vulnerability Management
• Support vulnerability assessment, remediation, patch management, and security improvement activities.
• Coordinate penetration testing activities and remediation of identified findings.
• Maintain technical documentation and support audit, compliance, and governance requirements.
• Ensure infrastructure and deployment processes align with organisational security standards and policies.
Infrastructure Transition and Knowledge Transfer
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to document, transition, and optimise existing infrastructure environments.
• Support infrastructure knowledge transfer, operational readiness, and long-term platform sustainability.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, networking, and cloud services.
• Experience managing containerised workloads using AWS ECS and familiarity with Kubernetes administration, including AWS EKS or equivalent platforms.
• Strong understanding of secure network architecture, identity and access management, vulnerability management, and infrastructure security practices.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitLab CI/CD or similar technologies.
• Experience with monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, backup management, and disaster recovery processes.
• Experience supporting production-grade cloud environments and operational platforms.
Preferred Experience
• Experience working in highly regulated, security-sensitive, or compliance-driven environments.
• Familiarity with government cloud environments, enterprise security frameworks, or industry compliance standards.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible.
• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, analytics, or high-performance computing workloads.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled engineering and automation tools.
Additional Information
• Appointment level and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications, skills, and relevant experience.
