Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Professor Zhou Weibiao on nutritional profile analysis and in vitro digestion of food materials under a project on alternative proteins, funded by the Singapore Food Story R&D Programme 2.0.

The main responsibilities of the position include:
The candidate shall join a multidisciplinary team at NUS to support the development of plant-based meat products with improved digestibility, nutritional quality, and functionality. This position will focus on establishing an advanced in vitro digestion approach to evaluate protein digestibility and conduct comprehensive nutritional profile analysis of alternative protein products.

In addition, he/she will help supervise final year undergraduate projects.

We are seeking for a highly motivated and talented ResearchOfficer/Laboratory Officer to join our Translational Retinal ResearchLaboratory as a Stem Cell Biologist. The successful candidate will contributeto the development, characterization and application of stem cell-derivedretinal cells for the treatment of Age-related Macular Degeneration.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and differentiation of stem cell-derived retinal cells.
• Perform cellular and molecular characterization of retinal cell types using advanced laboratory techniques.
• Contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and documentation of research findings.
• Collaborate with team members on translational research aimed at therapeutic application.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of experiments and results.
• Operate and maintain specialized lab equipment and ensure compliance with lab safety standards.
• Assist in general lab administrative duties, such as maintenance of lab stock and procurement.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, Biomedical Science, Biotechnology, or a related field.
• Strong interest in stem cell biology and regenerative medicine.
• Practical experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques (e.g., PCR, immunostaining, microscopy).
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
• Previous experience with stem cell culture or retinal biology is advantageous but not essential.

• Provide support to conduct learning needs analysis, determine training priorities, and develop an annual learning plan for the organization.
• Provide support to identify, implement, and facilitate the delivery of training programs (including e-learning modules and on-the-job training) that address the organization's training needs. This includes sourcing and managing training providers, developing course content, and administering course registration.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives.
• Support and work closely with internal stakeholders to manage the training budget efficiently.

Your previous experience in a similar role will lead to your success, as you will ideally have:

• A good degree in HR, Business Administration, or other equivalent disciplines.

• Fresh degree graduates are welcome to apply, but the following experience, either via internship or job prior to obtaining a degree, will be advantageous:
• Experience in developing training programs, including e-learning programs.
• Experience in administering the Learning Management System and e-learning.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Programme Development & Support

• Plan, manage and support professional development programmes, ensuring they are impactful, engaging, and aligned with the training needs of the Singapore in-house community.
• Oversee the smooth execution of on-site and virtual events, providing administrative, logistics and technical support.

2. Marketing & Outreach

• Programme promotion through creative marketing initiatives, including the design of visuals and simple video content using Canva or similar tools, in consultation with the Marketing & Communications team
• Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to drive engagement and increase participation across SCCA’s professional development programmes, to ensure that projected numbers are met.
• Develop and manage knowledge management resources that are relevant to the professional development programmes.

3. Stakeholder & Member Engagement

• Main liaison for any query pertaining to SCCA’s professional development programmes, i.e. SCCA Members, public, sponsors, knowledge partners.
• Build positive relationships with participants, speakers, sponsors and knowledge partners to strengthen SCCA’s professional development ecosystem.

4. Programme Administration & Reporting

• Maintain accurate records, documentation, and database for all professional development programmes, including post-programme evaluation, budget planning and tracking, procurement, engagement with knowledge partners, sponsorship agreement.
• Prepare regular reports and statistics, including finance reports with basic analysis, to support decision-making and programme evaluation.

5. General Administration & Support

• Provide administrative and operational support as required, contributing to the overall efficiency and success of the Professional Development team.

Key Qualifications:

• Degree/Diploma in a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of relevant working experience in training, events, education, or professional development.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A self-motivated, resourceful, and detail-oriented team player.
• Familiarity with the legal industry or professional associations would be an advantage.
