We are looking for highly motivated and talented researchers to join our interdisciplinary team working on advanced modelling of complex large-scale urban systems, with a particular focus on land use, transport, and the built environment.

This role will involve developing, applying, and refining computational models to better understand urban dynamics, including how land use and transportation interact with the physical, social, and economic environment.

They will work with a collaborative and interdisciplinary team of scientists and engineers that have a passion in understanding the dynamics of large-scale socio-technical systems such as urban transportation (either land, air and/or sea) as well as the relationship between the built environment and social outcomes (such as health or behavioural outcomes across different population segments).

The Energy Research Institute @ NTU (ERI@N) conducts applied research in advanced energy systems and sustainable infrastructure. This position supports an ERI@N-led project on integrating non-conventional geothermal energy into data centre cooling in Singapore.

We are seeking a Research Fellow to lead the development of advanced modelling and design methodologies for integrated hydrogen-energy systems, with a focus on thermal integration of metal hydride storage systems.

The Research Fellow will develop CFD models, process simulations, and system-level integration strategies to enable efficient hydrogen desorption driven by waste heat. Project Overview

The DiSTAP programme addresses deep problems in food production in Singapore and the world by developing a suite of impactful and novel analytical, genetic and biosynthetic technologies. DiSTAP is one of the five Interdisciplinary Research Groups (IRGs) of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART).  The research engineer will join an interdisciplinary team of chemists, engineers and plant biologists in the development, modification and characterization of functional conjugated polymers with unique optical properties that could potentially be used for cell imaging. Key Responsibilities

• Develop data-driven energy disaggregation models to estimate machine-, process-, and batch-level energy consumption from aggregated or limited metering data.
• Design and implement energy monitoring, analytics and benchmarking algorithms for energy performance tracking, anomaly detection, and causal analytics related to energy-saving of industrial equipment and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct experiments, model validation, and performance evaluation using industrial datasets.
• Work closely with project partners, engineers, and researchers to translate research outcomes into deployable industrial solutions.

Requirements

About the Role
We are looking for a Junior to Mid-Level ML Engineer to join the Model Engineering team. This role is suited for someone who enjoys working hands-on with computer vision models and understands models as systems to be trained, evaluated, improved, and optimised. You will work across the model lifecycle, including dataset preparation, architecture development, model training, evaluation, performance analysis, and optimisation for real-world computer vision applications.

Responsibilities

• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate computer vision models for classification, object detection, segmentation, pose estimation, and action recognition.
• Improve model performance through architecture enhancements, custom heads, backbone modifications, loss functions, and training strategy optimisation.
• Design experiments, conduct ablation studies, benchmark new techniques, and analyse model trade-offs.
• Investigate edge cases, debug failure cases, and improve model accuracy, robustness, and efficiency.
• Optimise models based on practical constraints such as latency, throughput, resource usage, and hardware limitations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve dataset quality, model performance, and system reliability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience training, fine-tuning, and evaluating computer vision models.
• Strong hands-on experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
