ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a domain-expert RPA Business Analyst with deep, hands-on knowledge of Reinsurance operations and a proven track record of delivering intelligent automation programmes using UiPath. This is a specialist role within our Automation Centre of Excellence (CoE), focused exclusively on the reinsurance and insurance value chain — from treaty and facultative processing to bordereau reconciliation, claims management, and regulatory reporting.
The RPA BA will be the primary interface between reinsurance business stakeholders and the automation delivery team. You will own the end-to-end discovery, analysis, documentation, and governance of automation initiatives — producing artefacts to CoE standards while working closely with UiPath developers to ensure solutions are technically sound, compliant, and deliver measurable business value.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Process Discovery & Analysis
• Lead structured process discovery workshops with underwriting, claims, finance, and reinsurance operations SMEs to capture end-to-end workflows
• Analyse and document As-Is reinsurance processes across treaty, facultative, bordereau, claims, and cession accounting workflows
• Assess automation feasibility, calculate complexity vs. benefit scores, and recommend processes for RPA, attended automation, or AI-assisted processing
• Produce As-Is and To-Be process maps using BPMN notation (Visio, Lucidchart, or equivalent) incorporating all exception paths and business rules
• Identify and document data sources, system integrations, and dependencies including reinsurance platforms (RI3K, Sequel, Remetrica, Xuber, or equivalent)
Documentation & Artefact Ownership
• Author high-quality Process Definition Documents (PDDs), Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), and Solution Design Documents (SDDs) to CoE standards
• Maintain a live automation register covering pipeline, in-flight, and production bots with version control, change logs, and ownership matrices
• Produce and maintain operational runbooks, exception-handling guides, and escalation procedures for each deployed automation
• Own UAT planning, test script authoring, execution coordination, defect tracking, and formal business sign-off documentation
• Prepare change management communications and end-user training packs for automation go-lives across reinsurance operations
• Deliver post-implementation benefits realisation reports tracking FTE savings, error rate reduction, SLA compliance, and ROI
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance
• Act as the primary point of contact for reinsurance business stakeholders throughout the automation lifecycle from discovery to hypercare
• Present automation proposals, solution designs, and delivery updates to senior stakeholders including COO, CFO, and CUO level
• Work closely with UiPath developers to validate technical designs against business requirements and ensure solution accuracy
• Collaborate with Compliance, Risk, and Internal Audit teams to ensure automations meet MAS regulatory requirements and internal control frameworks
• Support the development and continuous improvement of CoE documentation standards, templates, and governance frameworks
• Contribute to the quarterly automation pipeline review, prioritising opportunities based on strategic value and implementation complexity
UiPath Platform & RPA Knowledge
• Apply working knowledge of UiPath Studio, Orchestrator, and REFramework to validate technical designs and support developer decision-making
• Understand UiPath Document Understanding capabilities to scope intelligent data extraction from reinsurance documents (bordereaux, slips, endorsements)
• Define bot exception handling requirements, Orchestrator queue structures, and alerting thresholds in collaboration with the development team
• Participate in code reviews and UAT execution with an appreciation of RPA development best practices
• Support UiPath Process Mining or Task Mining exercises to objectively validate process discovery findings
