About the role

DTE Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be the final touchpoint before our products reach the customer. You will be responsible for preparing, documenting, and dispatching outgoing shipments while ensuring all inventory records are kept up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

• Verify shipping documents such as packing lists and shipping labels.
• Perform quality checks to ensure goods match the documentation before sealing shipments; report any discrepancies immediately.
• Update ERP to reflect real-time shipping status and inventory levels.
• Investigate and resolve shipping errors, such as lost packages or damaged goods, in coordination with the customer service team.

Job Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse administration.
• Education: SPM, Diploma in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, or equivalent.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) and familiarity with ERP is highly preferred.
• Language Skills: Strong command of Malay and English; ability to communicate in Mandarin is a significant advantage for local vendor coordination.
• Soft Skills: Excellent organizational skills, the ability to work under pressure during peak shipping periods, and a high level of attention to detail.
• Availability: Must be able to work in Muar and be flexible with hours during high-volume shipping seasons.

Responsibilities:

• Verify and seek approvals for accounts payable/ receivable

• Post account entries to system

• Handle petty cash reimbursement and bank matters

• Manage outstanding payables/ receivables, bank reconciliation, monthly cost reports, quarterly GST filing, cashflow forecast

• Preparation of audit and tax schedules

• Monitor lease for equipment & assets

• Attend to auditors’ requirement
  

Requirements:

• Recognised Diploma in Accountancy or Business Administration

• Min 2-3 of relevant working experience in similar position

Job Summary

This role supports both logistics documentation and finance operations. The candidate will manage import/shipping documents for customs clearance while assisting in accounts processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and proper record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities

A. Document Control (Import & Customs)

• Prepare, check, and compile documents for import permit and customs clearance:

  • Commercial Invoice

  • Packing List

  • Bill of Lading / Air Waybill

• Verify accuracy of product description, HS code, quantity, and value before submission.

• Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure complete documentation.

• Submit documents to customs agent for declaration and follow up on clearance status.

• Resolve discrepancies in documentation to avoid shipment delays.

• Maintain proper filing (digital & physical) for all shipping and permit documents.

• Ensure documents are audit-ready and compliant with regulations.

B. Accounts Support

• Process supplier invoices and match with PO / shipping documents.

• Assist in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions.

• Prepare payment schedules and support payment processing.

• Perform basic reconciliations (supplier statements, invoices vs GRN).

• Maintain accurate financial records and proper document filing.

• Assist in month-end closing and reporting tasks.

• Support finance team with ad hoc duties.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Accounting, Business, Logistics, or related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in logistics/documentation and/or accounting.

• Familiarity with import/export documentation is an advantage.

• Basic accounting knowledge (AP/AR, invoicing, reconciliation).

• Strong attention to detail and organization skills.

Preferred Skills
