Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for multiple Research Fellow positions in Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Department of Diagnostic Radiology. Appointments will be made on a 1-year contract basis in the first instance, with the possibility of extension.

Purpose of the post

The PI lab aims to develop nucleic acids nanobiotechnology for RNA therapy and gene editing. The Research Fellow will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and the team members to undertake independent and/or collaborative research and to lead on aspects of research strategy within the lab.

The Research Fellow will be able to:

(1) Undertake advanced research in the relevant discipline area using, or developing, the appropriate methods and/or techniques and help mentor graduate students assigned to the project;

About the Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP)

Optimizing the performance of health systems is essential to ensuring the wellbeing and longevity of populations worldwide. Singapore is particularly well placed to lead research in this field as its health system has been consistently ranked as one of the best in the world based in independent evaluation with the Global Burden of Disease data. The Centre for Research in Health Systems Performance (CRiHSP) aims to advance research in this area within the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine of the National University of Singapore (NUS) as the leading centre for research in health systems in Asia with the following core functions:

1. Research: empirical and methodological research and evidence synthesis on health systems performance with a particular focus on Value Based Healthcare.
2. Health policy intelligence: health policy impact analysis aimed at policy makers, service providers, researchers, and the wider public.
3. Capacity building: formal postgraduate programme (from certificates to PhD), fellowships,  mentoring, on-the- job and ad hoc training

About the role

The Research Associate will have the following duties:

Qualifications:

PhD in computer science, informatics, pharmacy, computational biology, medicinal chemistry, or a closely related field. Strong experience in deep learning, molecular property prediction, drug–target affinity prediction, virtual screening, molecular docking, and structure-based drug discovery. Job Summary
As a Senior Postdoctoral Scholar, you are expected to establish a computational pipeline to achieve catalyst prediction for CO2 electrocatalytic reduction reactions.

This is a multi-step approach, where first DFT will be used to understand reactions, then explore the use of machine learning potentials towards kinetic and large length scale/time scale simulations and eventually integrate into the experimental workflow.

You will be based in at the BEARS Consortium in Singapore at CREATE and will work in a highly collaborative environment as part of the AxCIS team in Singapore, addressing challenges at the interface of materials chemistry, high-throughput synthesis, artificial intelligence, and robotic automation.

We are seeking a hands-on postdoctoral researcher at BEARS under AxCIS Project (AI xploration of Catalysis with Inorganics and Surfaces) in Singapore. This project uses AI and laboratory automation to develop integrated pathways for producing chemicals and fuels in a holistic approach to decarbonization. This role centers on integrating an LLM-driven agentic platform for electrocatalyst discovery and developing novel machine-learning algorithms (e.g., reinforcement learning) for materials discovery and process optimization. You will work closely with multidisciplinary team and  architect and ship end-to-end, closed-loop workflows that connect instruments, edge devices, data backends, and AI agents.
Duties & Responsibilities

• Integrate instruments and IoT devices with reliable drivers/APIs; build autonomous/robotic testing workflows.
• Design LLM agents for planning, tool-use, and experiment control with safety interlocks.
• Develop and deploy RL/BO/active learning for closed-loop optimization.

Job Description

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant for Geroprotectors in Reproductive Ageing in Professor Brian Kennedy’s Centre for Healthy Longevity (CHL) lab in Healthy Longevity Translational Research Programme, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. CHL focuses on translational research targeting healthy aging, with particular emphasis on the use of repurposed drugs and natural compounds to improve reproductive healthspan. Model organisms include Caenorhabditis elegans (C. elegans) and mice. This position is offered on a one-year contract, with the possibility of renewal based on performance and funding.

Purpose of the post

The Research Assistant (RA) will be responsible to, and work closely with, the Principal Investigator and study team members to ensure the rigorous execution of experimental protocols and timely progression of project milestones. The RA’s role will be to screen for compounds that will increase reproductive health using the C. elegans model, and to study the effects of the compounds with aged mice models.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Research Assistant will work closely with the team to:

1. Perform large-scale compound screening using the C. elegans model;
2. Conduct mechanistic investigation on hit compounds in C. elegans;

The Sustainable and Green Finance Institute (SGFIN) is a new university-level research institute in the National University of Singapore (NUS), jointly supported by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and NUS.  SGFIN aspires to develop deep research capabilities in sustainable and green finance, provide thought leadership in the sustainability space, and shape sustainability outcomes across the financial sector and the economy at large.

This role is ideally suited for those wishing to work in academic or industry research in the financial sector, particularly in the area of sustainable, responsible, and green investing and valuation. The responsibilities of the role will include designing and developing a framework to distill various information regarding corporate sustainability efforts and performance into various metrics that can be analyzed further to support decision making in the corporate, financial, and societal spheres.

There are no teaching obligations for this position, and the candidate will have the opportunity to develop their research portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to assume the following responsibilities:

• Design research projects in close collaboration with the Institute’s Directors (Prof. Sumit Agarwal / A.Prof Johan Sulaeman / A.Prof Weina Zhang) and Research Affiliates
• Take ownership and responsibility for the successful delivery of research projects, ensuring they are completed within the required deadline and allocated budget, and meeting/exceeding project specifications and targets
• Participate in pre-project activities such as identifying required resources to ensure project completion including staffing and organizational needs of the project team, and preparing high-level project plans with project timeline and resource requirements
• Development of research hypotheses
• Plan and contribute to the collection and organization of corporate financial and sustainability disclosures
• Plan and contribute to the collection and organization of information regarding government policies and regulations in the sustainability space
• Contribute to qualitative and quantitative analyses of existing frameworks, to extend existing frameworks to develop a more comprehensive framework
• Monitor progress of research projects and provide necessary interventions to ensure smooth completion of each project
• Manage and coordinate project deliverables, ensuring their quality
• Manage the collaborations with research and industry stakeholders, including providing periodic progress updates and deliverables for grant funding body or project sponsors
• Manage industry partners’ expectation by understanding their needs and providing realistic expectations and scope of each project
• Preparation of results for industry communications, presentations, and academic articles for journal publications
• Guide, mentor, and supervise research analysts on the project team
• Work closely with the rest of the SGFIN team to support SGFIN’s activities and objectives

Qualifications

• Academic background in the following subjects is preferred: finance, accounting, economics, business, sustainable/green finance, sustainability management, or related disciplines. A bachelor’s degree is required, a master’s degree in one of these subjects is highly preferred, with a PhD degree preferred
• Basic understanding of financial sector (banks and other financial institutions), financial markets, corporate financial statements, and credit risk analysis, is required.
• A thorough knowledge of the research field of sustainable economics or finance is highly preferred.
• Quantitative analytical and/or financial econometric skills, including knowledge of advanced statistical software packages, are highly desired, along with experience with empirical research methods, including developing, conducting and supporting research and data analysis of research projects.

• Strong project management skills, with ability to manage several projects concurrently.
• Strong delivery management experience, with proven track records in managing and steering projects towards smooth execution and on time delivery.

Core responsibilities include R&D project execution, experimentation and benchmarking, development of model training strategies, and drafting of technical documentation, proposals and project scoping materials. The position entails working in a highly interdisciplinary R&D team in close collaboration with experts in NLP, LLMs, clinicians, population health, and other health ecosystem stakeholders on AI systems that have the potential to transform patient care and deliver improved health outcomes

Appointments will be based in Singapore for 3 years duration.

Qualifications and Field of Study

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, NLP, Biomedical Informatics, or a related field
• Strong experience in LLM pre-training and fine-tuning (CPT, SFT, DPO, RLHF-style methods)
• Experience with large-scale training frameworks (PyTorch, DeepSpeed, FSDP, HuggingFace, etc.)
• Experience handling noisy real-world clinical or biomedical text data
• Strong experimental design and benchmarking skills
• Familiarity with cloud-based GPU training environments

Desirable:

• Experience with medical reasoning LLMs
• Background in medical NLP or healthcare AI
• Publications in ML/NLP/health AI journals/conferences

Experience

2-4 years post-PhD with track record in domain deployment oriented projects in applied health or other domains, and in publishing research in leading digital health venues. Experience in healthcare, corporate or application-oriented environments desirable.

• Ability to innovate with advanced NLP and FM methodologies as well as to direct prototyping for demonstrating research ideas
• Exposure to varied digital health study designs, research methods, human computer interaction frameworks, and clinical evaluation approaches
• Cross-disciplinary experience spanning clinical needs definition, clinical workflow understanding, R&D problem formulation, health or medical technology evaluations, impact evaluation and/or real-world implementation.
• Ability to work independently as well as in multidisciplinary teams with strong interpersonal skills

• Quick learner; able to acquire the necessary domain knowledge

Drive to keep pace with AI/LLM R&D developments, work with full stack data engineering and deployment teams for real world projects, and with healthcare ecosystem partners on clinical translational studies highly desirable.

Skills

• Experience with LLM/FM frameworks as well as NLP/LLM toolkits
• Experience with ETL processes and dataset curation for FM training, especially for large or multimodal health datasets
• Strong programming abilities, particularly in Python and Bash for LLM pipelines, clinical data preprocessing, and ETL workflows. Experience with SQL/PostgreSQL and large-scale data processing (e.g., PySpark) is advantageous.
• Strong quantitative skills including statistics, probability, machine learning, and deep learning, with the ability to design rigorous evaluation frameworks for LLM reasoning quality, trustworthiness, and clinical safety.
• Comfort with biomedical knowledge representation and model evaluation
• Comfort within cloud-based data engineering and ML environments
• Exposure to FMOps/DevOps infrastructure and pipelines for deploying AI/LLM solutions for healthcare applications

What you'll be doing

• Accurately processing and recording supplier invoices in a timely manner

• Reconciliation against supplier’s statement of accounts

• Preparing and submitting payment runs to ensure suppliers are paid on time

• Maintaining detailed records and documentation for all financial transactions

• Responding to supplier inquiries and resolving any discrepancies or issues

• Prepare AP trade and non-trade payment listing

• Perform bank reconciliation

• Contract booking for Forex and submission of Trade Financing transactions

• Assisting with the preparation of financial reports and analysis as required

• Collaborating with the broader finance team to support the overall financial management of the business

What we're looking for

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly in the area of accounts payable

• Proficiency in using accounting software and spreadsheet applications (e.g. Excel)

• Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accurate record-keeping

• Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines

• A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or finance would be an advantage
