You will be working closely with NCID researchers and collaborators, both internal and external, to initiate, develop and complete research projects. The key roles include writing grant applications, preparing project protocols, supervising research coordinators/assistants in study implementation, analysing data, and preparing manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work strategically with doctors, local and international academic collaborators, epidemiologists and statisticians, to formulate and answer important clinical and public health questions on the diagnosis, prognosis, management, and prevention of infectious diseases.
• Assist with manuscript preparation for submission to peer reviewed journals through literature review, preliminary data analysis, and drafting of manuscripts.
• Work closely with principal investigators, other research fellows, and research assistants to execute new studies by planning, preparing study protocols, and implementing these studies efficiently.
• Prepare research grant applications under the direction of NCID researchers, including performing necessary literature review, advising on study design, and coordinating inputs from research collaborators.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Grants, Impact & Research Officer (GRIO) plays a core role in advancing EQUAL’s sustainability and credibility by driving grant readiness, strengthening funder engagement support, and building the applied evidence base for equine-assisted services in Singapore. The GRIO will own the operational backbone of EQUAL’s grants portfolio (government related), while supporting impact measurement and research coordination — translating programme data into compelling funding proposals and outcome reports. ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Grants Pipeline & Funding Support

• Proactively identify relevant grant opportunities across government and government related agencies.
• Maintain and manage a centralised grants pipeline, tracking prospects, submissions, approvals, reporting deadlines, and renewal opportunities.
• Coordinate inputs for grant applications, including programme narratives, budgets, KPIs, and supporting documents.

Systems, Documentation & Knowledge Management

Experience

• Education: Degree in social sciences, public administration, business, finance, or a related field.
• Experience: At least 1–4 years of experience in grant writing, or non-profit research and administration in Singapore.

The Lee Kuan Yew Centre for Innovative Cities at the Singapore University of Technology and Design is seeking a full-time Research Fellow, to join a growing research team dedicated to understanding human behavior in cities.

Successful applicants will contribute to a research program that explores the intersection of human behavior, urban design, technology, and livability. The program tackles critical questions about how cities shape people’s behaviors and, in turn, how cities should be designed to better serve their inhabitants. Upcoming projects in the lab include the study of public perception and behaviours in public spaces, nature-connectedness and health in cities, and mobility and health in cities.

Candidates should possess a strong interest in applying a human lens to transdisciplinary and collaborative research. Expertise in quantitative research methods, experience working with Virtual Reality, physiological and/or neurological measures, and a background in applied social and/or behavioral science will be a plus.
