The responsibilities under this role will include performing quality assessments, maintain documentation, and assist in resolving quality-related issues.

This is a 1-year contract role.

Key responsibilities:

Environment Monitoring

Monitor laboratory conditions to ensure optimal testing environments and compliance with safety and environmental regulations, reporting any non-conformities.

Equipment Management

Commission and decommission standard lab equipment, conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and calibration, ensure equipment meets calibration standards, and assist in troubleshooting performance, accuracy issues and liaising with external service providers

Proficiency Test

Support inter- and intra-laboratory proficiency testing programs

Documentation & Traceability

Maintain accurate, up-to-date, and accessible detail records of equipment inventory, calibration certificates, maintenance activities and facilities monitoring

QAQC Process Flow

Assist in implementing quality assurance and control procedures, prepare for internal audits and address non-conformities, and support maintaining ISO 17025 accreditation while adhering to stringent QHSSE and technical requirements.

Continuous Improvement Initiatives

Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on potential improvements to laboratory processes.

Requirements:

• Diploma - relevant Engineering or Quality discipline, or equivalent in experience

• Minimum 3 years working experience

• Prior experience in ISO17025 accredited lab (desirable)

• Prior work experience in Geotechnical or construction materials laboratory and performing tests (desirable)

• Good numeracy and literacy

• Working knowledge of maths, statistics, functions, and geometry

• Eye for detail, diligent in following procedures and record-keeping

• Electronics technical skill (Desirable)

• Proficient in use of MS Office applications

Responsibilities:

• Oversee incoming quality checks and supplier performance; identify trends and drive improvements.
• Investigate quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor product quality using SPC; ensure customer requirements are met from incoming to outgoing stages.
• Maintain QA documentation per ISO and internal systems, ensure QA data accuracy and integrity.
• Prepare quality documents for customer inquiries, review quality docs (e.g., COA, reports) per procedures and customer needs.
• Handle customer complaint investigations, ensuring timely resolution and proper records.
• Coordinate ad-hoc sample testing and analyze data to support quality decisions.
• Conduct risk assessments, FMEA, training, and support continuous improvement.
• Plan and take part in internal/external audits; ensure audit readiness.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
• Promote and join quality/EHS company programs.

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Chemical or related science field.
• At least 2 - 5 years of relevant experience.
• Solid knowledge of quality control standards and statistical analysis.
• Strong written/verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001 is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
