About the Role

We are seeking motivated Research Engineers to join our team working on advanced technologies in piezoelectric materials and ultrasound systems. This role offers hands-on experience in cutting-edge research and development, contributing to innovative solutions for sensing and imaging applications.

Key Responsibilities

Candidates may contribute to one or more of the following areas:

• Materials Development: Design, fabricate, and characterize piezoelectric materials and composites. Optimize material properties for ultrasound transducer performance.
• Sensor Hardware Development: Develop and assemble ultrasound transducers and sensor prototypes. Perform electrical and acoustic testing of devices.
• Software Development: Implement signal processing algorithms for ultrasound data acquisition. Develop control and visualization software for sensor systems.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in: Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
• Strong interest in piezoelectric materials, ultrasound technology, and sensor systems.
• Experience in any of the following is a plus: Hardware prototyping and electronics. Programming (Python, C++, MATLAB).Materials characterization (XRD, SEM, impedance analysis).

Key job purpose

• Conduct investigations on the bonding and debonding of adhesively bonded hybrid joints with modified adhesives via down-selected process route. Cleaning the adhesive traces and capability to rebond with minimum surface preparation meeting the original design requirements and specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deep drive into the modification of adhesives with suitable trigger chemicals and investigate the hysteresis heating response under the external stimuli. 

• Able to fabricate the hybrid joints with modified adhesives for their joining and investigate the debonding response Develop necessary test matrix to do comprehensive parametric studies

• Develop instrumentation and fixtures for the automation.

• Capabilities in advanced finite element or machine learning tools for process optimisation

• Disseminate the research outcomes into Journal publications, conference presentations and patents, where appropriate.

You will collaborate closely with process engineers, equipment specialists, and IT teams to transform raw fab data into actionable intelligence that enhances productivity, quality, and yield.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement scalable data pipelines to ingest, clean, and structure high-volume, high-velocity data from fab tools (e.g., sensors, MES, EDA, APC systems).
• Apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and AI techniques (e.g., computer vision, time-series forecasting, anomaly detection, reinforcement learning) to improve manufacturing outcomes.

• Build predictive and prescriptive models for applications such as:

Yield prediction and root cause analysis

Equipment health monitoring and predictive maintenance

Required Qualifications

• Minimal Bachelor in Data Science, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or a related field preferred.
• 2+ years of experience applying data analytics and/or machine learning in semiconductor manufacturing or fab automation.
• Knowledge of semiconductor processes (e.g., lithography, etch, deposition) or equipment data standards (SECS/GEM, GEM300)
• Strong programming skills in Python (pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow/PyTorch) and SQL.
• Experience working with time-series data, sensor data, or structured/unstructured manufacturing data.

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher in Secure Hardware Design. You will research leading-edge True Random Number Generator (TRNG) and Physical Unclonable Function (PUF) solutions in the context of post quantum security applications, especially dedicated to a RISC-V processors. You will investigate and provide advanced designs and algorithms for PUF-based key-storage and authentication solutions and accelerators to provide randomness to an open-source post-quantum secure system. You will be responsible for the physical design and the integration of analog components in a team for IC design of an RISC-V processor.

This is a fixed term contract until March 2029.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and provide TRNG and PUF solutions for an open-source RISC-V processor.
• Research and perform backend design using open-source tools, especially for the design of an open-source post-quantum secure RISC-V processor.
• Collaborate with experts in design automation, IC design, and security to enable leading-edge hardware-intrinsic security solutions and IC design.
• Write scientific manuscripts, contribute to project reports, and present findings at international conferences and stakeholder meetings.

Key Competencies

• Proven expertise in hardware security and/or analog design and/or digital design and/or physical IC design.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex analytical results to multidisciplinary teams.

Qualification Requirements
